This questions, and variations of it, have been asked so many times on this forum. But one more time.....
For the vast majority of Americans, it is because they are illegal. They committed a criminal act by being here. By not following the process, laws, policies and guidelines, they pour into the U.S. in numbers that far exceed our guideline for entry. As a result we are inundated with a number that is not supportable over the long run, and there is no end in sight. They leech off of the system, depress wages for Americans and other legal members of society, and cost us all outrageous sums of money in supporting the social infrastructure they use.
Very few legitimate posters on this board are against immigration of any type from any race or nationality. Legal immigration is supported and welcomed. It is, indeed, part of the fabric of America.
It is the iLLEGAL aspect solely. However no matter how many times we say it, someone has to pull the race card and accuse racism.
Which is really no so subtlety done within your own question. And I for one am resentful of having defend myself for defending the laws of the United States of America.

I didn't have that strong an opinion at all until after the marches in 2006 when I realized how MANY there were and how MUCH of the problem with LAUSD would be resolved if our immigration laws had only been consistently enforced. The impacts of literally millions of English-impaired children of illegal immigrants on the LAUSD is immense. Look it up. I had no idea how many were children of those illegally here, and thought we were just a draw for every single legal immigrant in America, and of course, one can't blame those legally here. One can absolutely blame our government for letting it get this bad and our media for covering up a 'non-PC' truth, however.

It's not about being "simply" illegal, it's about being illegal period. Illegal entry, illegal identification, illegal employment, illegal collection of benefits, illegal all day and night. I don't know what you mean by looking or acting American...every American looks different, but we aren't talking about Americans here, we're talking about uninvited criminals that are here on the take and that is the problem.

I don't have a problem with illegals, I do have a problem with people from other countries that have serious criminal history and are probably in my neighborhood. As a citizen, I have to carry documentation stating who I am, with that info the local law enforcement can determine if I a threat to society or not and treat me accordingly.Honestly

Because they broke our laws the minute they snuck into our country.
I'm of Irish descent.
I would arrest and deport the Illegal Irish FIRST, just to set the example.
But, what the American People want is none of the business of illegal aliens anyway.
This is not their country.

illegal is illegal they should be deported or regulated into an immigration systems. We do need immigrants this country was built by them and there hard work and good ideas. The shame is on the immigration service and the people who employ illegals. The USA is still attractive to many lets be happy about that anyway.Proud to be an American.

because illegal is just that,a criminal act.dont think for a minute if a citizen breaks a law, that they wont have to pay a fine,or be incarcerated or both.So why should someone who cannot follow the simplest of immigration laws and fill out the paperwork to be here be entitled to special treatment(social services,be allowed to stay here, etc)

because they are illigal, there are plenty of Americans who don't act it as well
~ make them get in line,
~streamline and update the technology of the guest worker program a bit,
~make them pay special taxes(not american taxes as for they cannot have full american rights untill they are legal)
~fine the employer of illegals $$
~enforce laws ALREADY there, through the local police, especially in safe haven cities
~secure the borders, (some how)
~MAYBE (and its a big maybe) help Mexico be more desirable for their own citizens to stay

simply because they are illegal
if all are legal there wouldn't be the flood to the labor pool the numbers are controlled for immigration for that reason illegally entering the country throws those numbers off

It's really so simple, we don't like anyone who crosses our border illegally. If they act up on top of that, then we dislike them even more
