My boyfriend is starting to take his diet more seriously now. He's stopped drinking soda completely (yay!) and has switched to strictly juice, water, and milk. He officially started on Thursday.

That same day, he started drinking a lot of Kool-Aid. He had four or five LARGE glasses of Kool-Aid, and that same day, he started to go #2 more frequently. He usually goes not long after a large meal anyway, but now he's going 3-4 times a day.

He told me that it's starting to hurt his rectum, that he's getting prickly heat from all of this, he had a little bit of blood last night in his soft stool, some of the stool looked like it had "a moldy color to it", and he has really bad stomach aches. He also had a history of getting bad stomach aches as a child. In the past, he'd gotten sick with a disease called "low intestinal fluids" and he said that his bm's look a lot like they did then.

I'm worried sick about him. Do you think it's this diet or is it something more?

He only had that much Koolaid that one day... and if he's still not feeling better by today, he said he's going to the doctor.

I'm also taking fatty foods out of his diet along with the soda and now the koolaid. He's going to learn sooner or later...

Doesn't do the body much good to stop drinking soda pop if you are only going to replace it with kool-aid. You said he is only drinking juice, water and milk. Where does kool-aid fit in that list? Surely he doesn't think kool-aid is a juice?
He should drink plain water. 4 or 5 large glasses of water a day is not a bad thing as long as he is eating sensible meals and not just filling up with water.

That isn't a good diet...switching from Soda to Kool Aid?...kool aid is loaded with empty calories....blood in a stool could be indicative of something else though..he needs to see a doctor

Get him off Kool-Aid
That is NOT helping him.
He might as well drink soda.

If he's not okay after a few days off the Kool-Aid, he needs to see the doctor.

I'd say it's his diet. Kool Aid is LOADED with sugar, all of that can't be good for his digestive tract. Tell him to lay off the Kool Aid for awhile, drink more water.

It's time to see a doctor--pronto. It may very well be the diet, or he could be having a reaction to one of the dyes in th Kool-Aid. There's also a possibility that he could be abusing laxatives and you don't know it. All things said, your boyfriend needs to see his primary care physician to rule out any serious physical problems.

Is there anyway you could catch a bus/train to him or taxi? So that you can spend at least an hour with him every/every other day, may help him to relax more for him to know that you care and there to cuddle him etc. If not do you both have webcam? Don't worry about your parents its up to you who you want to be with and fall in love with they cant hold you back especially if you're this worried about him!

It could be anything. He needs to go and see the doctor so they can do a stool sample and rule out problems. This would be the only way to tell.
