If he got extended while over there yes they should get the 1000.00 extra. it will be split up over both pay periods. IF he went over knowing it was going to be more then 12 months then they arent giving the extra allowance for that

I just came back from Afghanistan, we got the extra 1000.00 a month for every month over 12. It should show up on his LES every month, and not in a lump sum. Plus when he gets home he will file for his Per Diem, which is about 3 bucks a day, for everyday deployed.

the answer is no only soilders who quilify for the extra money get it and its once a month the pay is called co-t-tad pay dont know how its spelled but thats how you say it anyway as far as i know only reserve and guard soilders quilify for the extra pay it is based on the fact that as a reservest you are only supposded to be deployed for 22 months in a 5 year span the month that you go over that limit you get the co-t-tad pay. so since i am deployed now if i return home and within that 5 year span i get deployed again i will then quilify for the extra money ofter that 22 month passes which will be the 7 month into my next deployment we do 15 month deployments its sort of a compinsation to the reservists who most of them loss money on deployments since active military pay does not equil what they make in the civilan world. That is how it works for us reservists

for the active side congress was putting together a package along the same lines to those soilders who were on 12 month orders and got extended and they would recive the money after the 12th month in country but from what i have read if you are on a 15 month set of orders you do not quilfiy for the extra pay after the 12 month in country, you can also go to military.com and see the progress of the bill and the pay rases to go into effect in jan.

Talk to your FRG. I didn't worry to much about the pay my husband got over there as much as I did about his well being.
