I have 18 compaq pc need free drivers download where do I go to get them?

I got all the windows downloaded just need the drivers to get on line I know there a free place to down load them? but everybody wants to sell me something. I just have a hard time to find the site to down load drivers just for compaq pc only free? I bought all pc on ebay from gov. site

Your question is a little confusing in the fact that generally you only need frivers for Printers, Scanners, and Camera's.
Depending on your mode of connection,
Dial-up
DSL
Cable will determine what you need.
Dial-up
You should have an Intermal Modem in your computer that you plug your Phone line in and you purchase the service from someone like AOL.
DSL
You should also have an Ethernet Port that is just a touch larger than a Phone connection but they look the same .
This Port will allow you to connect to either DSL or CABLE with the use of an ethernet cable from your computer to your Internet Service Providers MODEM.
The Modem they furnish yo is the key here to your connection using the Ethernet Cable.
Next many computers come equipped with Internal Wireless Cards this will enable you to connect to Hot Spots out in Public Area's and at Home if you have Purchased a Wireless Router.
You connect from your ISP's Modem to the WAN port on the Wireless Router.
Note not all Computers come with Internal Wireless cards.
If that is the case you need to purchase a Wireless Adapter to plug into your computer. These wireless adapters do sometimes require drivers to make them work, but the drivers they require are offered free of charge from the manufacture of the wireless adapter.

Each Operating System on your computer can vary a little.
Go to your Control Panel and choose Network Connections and then you can set up your method of connection there just follow the instructions on Set up a New Connection.
