...for wedding photography. Third party lenses are ok (Sigma, Tamron). I just need something that is less than $700.

Try an 18-200 superzoom, which will give you from wide angle to zoom. Pair it up with a really good flash and you'll be right at $700.

Since your budget is $700, it's low for the highest quality lenses.

If you can move around and get very close, consider a 50mm f/1.4 lens, which is great for low-light shooting but isn't very good for telephoto (long-distance shooting). But if you can "zoom with your feet), it'll be a great choice.

If you're shooting a wedding for the first time...you're in for a real challenge.

What I'd recommend is this:
1) get a superzoom lens and a good flash. Hopefully you can use flash during the ceremony
2) get a good tripod
3) be prepared to move around during the ceremony
4) rent a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens, which is good for longer distance shots, for portraits, and for lower light shooting.
5) practice, practice, practice! Otherwise, if you don't know what to expect, you'll miss a critical moment/photo.

Any Pentax K-mount lens will mount to your camera. The older ones will have to be manually focused but what a selection of excellent glass.
