Could he have meant that he thought you had "brushed him off"? As in - were trying to avoid him, or were ignoring him?

I'm not sure in what context he made the comment, but that would fit.

**Aha! That'll definitely be it then :=) No problem

"Brushed me" is a common Aussie phrase, and does mean exactly what has been said previously ..... ignored, evaded, or giving someone a dismissive remark. As with many Aussie sayings there are often multiple ways it can be applied to situations, as there are often multiple definitions of the terms.

Brushed = short for Bum's rush. Yes, as has been said before above, another way of saying ignored

It is an odd expression and not one I have heard. It might be a novel variant on "I thought you had given me the brush-off" which could be translated as "ignored, dumped". "brush-off" is often heard but not a verb made from the noun phrase.

I've never heard that expression in Australia.

I'd say he was telling you that he felt you had brushed him off or ignored him.
You "blanked" him.

It means he thought you had dropped him or given him up as a mate.

If you haven't, be sure to let him know!

Cheers :-)
