Yes, but it is also normal for women to get in the mood for sex three times a month. That's because the libido (sex drive) can be very different for different women, and still be normal.
One of the toughest problems for couples to adjust to is when they have very different sex drives. Sometimes the woman wants sex much more often than the man wants it. Sometimes the man wants sex much more often than the woman wants it. It is as normal as one that doesn't want it more than once a month. Each person has their own sex drive, as long as this individual is with someone that has a similar drive, there is nothing wrong with it. The problem is when they have several partners to meet this drive, then there is the risk of STDs and other problems.

I don't know if it's normal or not but it happens from time to time (the most i have experienced first hand is about 7 times a day).

It might be normal for her but it could be too much for her man! Initial relations of course have no limit and U can spend weekends at it when work doesn't interfere.
As was once famously remarked:

At times, yes.
I've been there.
And yes, it is difficult to deal with.
You do what you can, indulge any fantasies that you have, and just cope.
In my case, it only lasted a couple of months and we found some new things that pleasured both of us.
