I would say put whatever you where the proudest to wear in your career and want to wear forever. I have seen soldiers get their Pathfinder, Airborne, and Air Assault badge. Alot of people put the Eagle but that is more along with patriotism unless it is a Division Patch (101st Airborne Division Air Assault) or Unit Patch. I have also seen soldiers get their "dog tags" now called ID tags tattooed on them.

All in all it would be what where you the proudest to wear.

Military tattoos aren't too popular in the Australian Army... I can only think of two people in my unit with military tattoos - one's an idiot, the other is an ex-Marine who still has the USMC logo (actually looks pretty Schmick).

Personally, I'd go for the cap badge of the 1st Commando Regiment, it's one of few that actually looks good - a boomerang, a dagger and the words 'Strike Swiftly'. It'll never happen, because I'll probably never join them.

USMC on the left upper arm in Italic with
Surrender or Die underneath
The Battlefield Cross with a wind blown/tattered American Flag on the right upper arm. Around the outer border is
" I am My Brothers Keeper" It is quite unique and it says it for me!
Sic Semper Tyrannous

I have a Red Cross with "Pro Humanitate" written under it on my outer thigh. I got this to remember why I do what I do, my job is pretty ******* horrible at times (I work in Trauma). I think it (the tatt) can be applied to work/life outside the military too.

When I first joined the military I thought about it, but in the end if I ever got another tattoo it'd be Patriotic and not military related. Only because military tatts look so tacky

First to liquid Semper Fi means Always Faithful. Get it right please. I am the proud owner of a USMC tat, and I am getting "Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum" done soon. It's Latin, look it up. Also getting a battlefield cross and maybe a memorial for Marine Cpl. Jason Dunham.

Almost every Marine has the Eagle Globe and Anchor tattooed on them, if not at least a moto tat.
I have it tattooed on my forearm.
The reason I did it was for pride.

I didn't do it years ago, although tempted. It looked to painful and expensive to me so I let the idea slide into the slime of other bad ideas.

If I had, though, it would have been the EGA.
