...then wouldn't this mean everyone, eventually? If Jimmy would have accepted Jesus in say, 3000 years, and once saved, always saved, then why send him to Hell if he died at 72 without Christ?

God decrees the salvation of certain sinners, and he chooses them not on the basis of what they would have "done with Christ" given enough time. Salvation is not based on man's so-called free will and his timetable, but on God's.

We have this life to choose. God limited the life span of people to 120 years.
