Hi. I live in Michigan too! Here is what I know and what I found out by going to the State of Michigan website:
~ You need to apply for a marriage license in the County in which YOU LIVE, so go to the Kent County Clerk's Office to apply for a marriage license. Here is the address:
County Administration Building
300 Monroe Avenue, NW
Grand Rapids, MI 49503-2288
Phone: (616) 632-7640
Fax: (616) 632-7645
Office Hours
Monday-Friday
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Here's what you need to know and what documents to bring with you before you apply for a Michigan marriage license.
Residency Requirement:
Residents need to apply for their marriage license in the county in which one of them lives.
Previous Marriage: You need to know the date (mm/dd/yy) and how the last marriage ended. If it was within the last 6 months, you will need to bring proof of the divorce that can be left with the Clerk.
ID Requirement in Michigan:
Picture id such as Drivers License. You can also use Military ID, DD 214, You must also have a certified copy of your birth certificates.
You will also need to know your parents addresses, and your mothers' maiden names. Foreign birth certificates need to be translated into English, and be notarized.
Waiting Period:
There is a three (3) day waiting period in Michigan. This may be waived by the county clerk for "good and sufficient cause shown."
Fees in Michigan: $20 if you are a resident of Michigan. Some counties may charge more. Bring cash. Most counties do not accept checks.
Under 18:
If you are 16 or 17 years old, you can get married with parental consent. Your parents must appear with their own identification and if a custodial parent, proof of their custody. If you are 15 or younger, you will need both parental consent and the approval of the probate court.
Witnesses:
Witnesses do not have to be 18 years of age, but they do need to be able to understand what they are witnessing, and to be able to sign their legal signature.
Officiants:
Marriages may be performed by federal, probate, district, and municipal judges, and district court magistrates, in their court area; mayors, in their city; County clerks; ministers and pastors of the gospel, both resident and non-resident.
Miscellaneous:
License is valid for thirty (30) days.

He's a lout on two counts - promising to marry someone he 'doesn't even like' and stringing you along 'for later.' Still, love is nuts and so are all of we. The heart knows what it wants no matter how inconvenient. Best thing for you to do is to put your arms around him, tell him how you feel but that you'll ONLY cement the deal if he comes to you as a single man. Then walk away. That way, if your relationship works out, there won't be any ugly mess to clean up.

I sincerely hope this isnt the same guy from a year ago that was using you..
Whatever the reason you are marrying in such a fashion truly isnt anyone business, but all you do is go to the JP in the county where you live and they can marry you.
You can also go to www.gatheringguide.com and find an officiant to marry you, but you have to get your paperwork in order first.

Other than suddenly becoming pregnant, I honestly don't understand how someone can NEED to get married right away. Well, maybe something with medical insurance, finances, etc.
Sweetie, need/emergency or not, rushing into marriage is NOT a good idea. If you want to sign your marriage death sentence then by all means, get married. But in my opinion, there is nothing that warrants rushing a marriage.

I hope everything is OK since you "have" to get married in such a hurry.
I live in Michigan as well. Go to the county courthouse or city offices. You should be able to get the license and get married there.
Good luck!

You go to the county courthouse of the state (or the city) where you want to get married. Call them up first. They can tell you what you need to bring, where you need to go, etc. But you BOTH have to go together

Go to the courthouse, usually the county clerk's office. They'll take care of you. Best wishes!

Around here we go to city hall for marriage licenses. Does your state require blood test? If so, better get down there first thing Monday AM. I hope it all works out for ya!
