After Adam and Eve had children, how did they proceed onto the third generation? The children must have slept with each other, or their own parents. How do you explain this to an inquisitive child without condoning incest? Incest was the order of the day, and would have been required for two or three generations. The same applies to the story of Noah's Ark. The children of Noah's family and his wife's family must have slept with members of their parent's family, or each other. Any further generations would again be faced with the same choice.

We always assume that brothers and sisters have the same DNA, but, modern science has confirmed that using in-vitro fertilization can result in a virgin mother giving birth to a child with a different DNA.
Another benefit of in-vitro fertilization is that mothers with husbands, like Eve, can give birth to children with DNA that has nothing to do with either the father or the mother or previous children born to the same parents.
Over the years prior to Moses and Exodus God talked to people, giving them laws and prophesies before God gave them the Torah with the Mizvot.
The Mizvot (or Mitzvot) are the 613 laws that God's people were supposed to obey and which were rejected. The Torah is the first five books of the Bible, in orthodoxy, properly written by a Rabbi on parchment made from the skin of a Kosher animal.
Before the entire Torah and the Mizvot were distributed to the people we cannot be sure what laws were given to the people. We know from Genesis that there were laws against adultery and murder, we also know from the destruction of Sodom that sins of greed and abomination had been defined for the people.
However, from the description of Lot with his daughters it would appear that there were no laws concerning incest prior to the Exodus, or, that prior to Exodus the laws about incest were considered breakable under some conditions.
For example, if a Jew is somewhere where they cannot eat Kosher (a German death camp) they can eat non-Kosher foods to survive, breaking the law.

The world was well populated before Adam and Eve arrived on Earth almost 38,000 years ago. But it's true that their children did mate monogamously among themselves. Once Adam and Eve's direct-line offspring reached 1 million, they then went out into the races of the world and mated with the superior elements of the people they found. In this way they were to contribute their superior DNA to the human gene pool. But because of their eating the "apple" (a symbol for a serious transgression of one of the precepts of their mission) the human races never got the full benefit of their superior DNA.
The answers to all your questions about this amazing couple can be found in the book Adam and Eve - A Tragic Love Story. This is a serious and scholarly work and I highly recommend it. Good luck to you!

In the begining there were no genetic defects to cause issues from inbreading and there were no prohibitions against it.
After the fall of man there was a defect now introduced.
If you follow the generations after the fall you will see a steady reduction in life spans as this defect was re-enforced.
Finally there was a point where God placed a prohibition on how close two people could be related and still be allowed to marry.
You will find these in the book of Leviticus chapter 20
Actually being able to see the reported effects of the genetic inbreading is also more evidence to the truth of the Bible as God's word.

Yes, Adam and Eve had other children. They would have married each other. This was ok then, as the genes would not have been corrupted (remember the people lived to be around 1000 years old). The incest laws didn't come along until the time of Moses.

Studies in Evolution of the human "homo sapience" species indicate that there was an Eve, a single woman from whom all people are descended. however, the same studies indicate that there were 4 Adams, who mated with this woman, or with her daughters, so you could say that there was only one real human, a woman, who mated with proto humans, to produce our species
other studies show that very early hominids mated again and again with their closest relatives, Chimpanzees, before separating into a new species.

When referring to Adam it's (plural) "generations": Gen 5.
When referrring to JC it's (singular) "generation": Matt 1
The "generations" of heavens? Law vs Law?
The "generations" of Noah? Grace + Law?
Which things are an "allegory" and a "mystery" to solve.
The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.
