Are you kidding me? Are you gonna take a pay cut to pay for that?
The money has to come from somewhere and tax payers are not gonna eat the bill so a part time cop can have a take home car!
My agency has over 1000 full time officers and take home cars. We probably have 100 reserve officers... can you imagine the money to give them all a car? Staggering.
Sure, you may live in a small county, with less reserves, but its all relative... big city, big budget... small town, small budget. But its still a huge expense.
So, no........ I disagree. And I am not taking a pay or benefits cut so some weekend warrior can have a car.

In most areas, reserve officers are volunteers and do not get paid. (A lot of the reserve officers I know do this in hopes of being considered when a regular officer position is available.) The reserve officers provide all their own gear and uniforms. They have other jobs where they work most of the time.
The reserves do not have a regular schedule, and providing vehicles for them would just be giving them a perk worth thousands of dollars. My area doesn't have the money to provide that.
Even with only 8 reserves, that would still require (probably) about $50,000 per year for the vehicle, insurance, fuel, and maintenance.
It would be great for the cars to be seen in the community, since, as I'm sure you know, increased visibility of police vehicles can lead to lower crime rates in those areas. Unfortunately, it costs money.

Because reserve officers are part time policemen and the taxpayers would be buying them cars. As a taxpayer I would find that outrageous and extravagant. It's like giving a reserve fighter pilot his own plane. It would just be unacceptable to the community you serve in my opinion, no matter how well intended the thought.

Is your community rich? How much do you think it would cost for dozens of cars. Reserve officers are part time!

Ummm...Opinion only, $$$$.
BTW: Please stop stating that you're a cop. The mere structure of your English alone shows that there is no way you're a police officer, not to mention the redundant questions about this topic and "which way do spotlights face on a police car?"
