One of the Five Articles of Faith of Islam (or its main doctrines) is the belief in prophets. They believe that God has spoken through many prophets through the centuries, but the six greatest are Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad. They believe that Muhammad is the last and greatest of all these God’s messengers. This is recited aloud publicly in their Creed or Kalima in the Five Pillars of Faith, to wit: “There is no God but Allah, and Muhammad is the Prophet of Allah”.

If Muhammad is the “last prophet”, why are there other prophets and prophetesses who claim to be messengers of God and became founders of their own religions. The well-known who came into the scene in the 19th century are:
1. Baha’u’llah of the Baha’i Faith
2. Joseph Smith, Jr. of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints or Mormonism
3. Mary Baker Eddy of the Church of Christ, Scientist
4. Ellen G. White, recognized by the Seventh-Day Adventist Church for her gift of prophecy

Are these people really prophets of the true God? If they are, then the belief of the Muslims that Muhammad is the last prophet is wrong. Comments from Muslims and non-Muslims are most welcome.

The test of the prophets is in the book of Deuteronomy.

If what they say is not back up by the Bible and the test of the prophets then they are not of God.

Have never heard of Baha'u'llah!? does she pass the test?

Joesph Smith does not pass the test...

Mary Baker Eddy does not pass the test.

Ellen White did pass the test...

Mohamend does not pass the test...

denying the divinity of Jesus Christ pretty much cancels any validity of being a prophet of God I would think... By denying the son of God you deny God..

John the Baptist was the last prophet according to christians books so this questions makes no sense, because for every believer person, there would be one "last" prophet. Not any answer will be correct because there are no possible evidences for this question nor God is going to intervene here to give his opinion.

Regards.

Islamically, all Prophets came to teach the people 1 message - 1 creed - that of Islam.

Indeed, Prophet MuHammad is the last Prophet.

A Prophet is one who calls to Islam and is revealed to by God.

i think u stated it in your question, we believe he is the last prophet, so how can we believe anyone else who claims to be prophet. Do you believe the people you mentioned to be prophets? And Moses (pbuh) had a book, then Jesus(pbuh) had a book that reaffirmed the one before it, and finally Muhammad(pbuh) had a book the reaffirmed and gave mention to the two before it, so did these so called prophets follow this pattern?

...This seems obvious, but maybe you overlooked it.

Muhammed(PBUH) is the last prophet Muslims recognize as a prophet.

According to Islam, all others after Muhammed are false prophets
