You aren't ready for a tattoo yet, if you have to come on the internet to ask people what you should get. A tattoo should have deep personal meaning to you and only you.

This is a conversation you should be having with a tattoo artist, that's what they are there for. Trust them because they know what looks best on your body.

In the meantime, some ideas for a small back tattoo:

A single rose
A cross
Skull
fancy banner with your favourite saying, pet name, love to mom, etc
tribal art
Chinese letters
Pair of dice
Snake
Fav Animal of some kind (cat, mouse, dog)
Four leaf clover

There's lots more, talk to an artist

if you don't know yourself what you want, then you are not ready for a tattoo. They are permanent and should be well thought out before actually getting one.

Personally, I don't get tattoos for one reason...I want to do something significant in my life.

Have you ever seen the CEO of a large corporation with a tattoo? There's a reason for that...the people who selected him wanted someone who would give a dignified appearance to the company. Certainly a slanted outlook since there are many, very decent people who have tattoos who could do the same job...but nevertheless, they won't be chosen for that simple reason.

It's not fair, but that's the way it is.

whatever the design, make sure you live with it in your mind for at least a few months. if you keep seeing other things and changing your mind you're not ready. it has to be something that satisfies you enough to not even look at other designs for a while at least.

That just depends on what you are about...you need to provide us with more info so we can help...like what is a hobby, maybe your age, male/female, personality.....without this info i would say if you are female....a rose or sun/moon...if you are male....maybe a cross or something like that.

well you need to start looking around for something that has meaning to you, put a lot of thought into this before you quickly decide "I'll get that one"

I'd advise you on a sudoku or a crosswords...
when young it might be a good conversation starter
and when old there's always something to do with your spouse
