Dear Everard G,
My father is a vietnam vet. A seargent with alot of credits to his name.
I hate that war. My father used to do alot of things and go to rehab in greenslopes often.
I grew up pretty quick.
I like to remember the first time I touched him, he was weeping in my kitchen on the station I lived on (cattle Station, 33 000 acres) and over a number of drinks he opened up and told me some things that my heart could cry with him about.
And I put my hand on his shoulder and said something to him.
No-one should have been welcomed home etc the way they were and treated like...
I have utmost respect for you Sir*

So WELL DONE, voice_of_reason and you other unapreciative selfcentred people, you have made me cry and probably a whole bunch of others.
I thought they would be treated better than The Vietnam Vets.

If you knew jack about that war you wouldn't be saying that.
It could only be if young know-alls like you people like you want to make it that way.
But you won't succed this time son.

Amen, well done troops and don't mind those whose heart and mind have been dulled by the incessant drumming of falsehoods. We have an enemy bent on doing us harm and you are defending us and by doing so making other parts of the world better off as well.
BIG thank you and blessings to you

If you want to witness - or whatever you like call it - here is not the forum.

I also have to wonder how anyone can continue to be proud of what has become a second Vietnam costing the lives of thousands of people - soldiers and Iraqís - for no solution at all.

I haven't agreed with you, so now you're showing your true colours, are you? Well, sorry, but Vietnam was a politically and ideologically motivated conflict that proved disastrous in terms of the cost of human life and the stability of the region when the US finally had to withdraw from an unwinnable battle. This is different from Iraq in what way? I take it you're not a young know-all, so show me why it isn't another Vietnam. You clearly know so much more than me.

The pity of it is, people are dying so you can enjoy your moment of patriotism. Pretty unjustifiable whichever way you cut it.

Tks for the prayers, I haven't been assigned to go as yet, But allot of them believe in God and many of them also are Christians, and even those of them who don't believe appreciate your support and thank yous.
I read this on the military site you also posted this and thought some here could do with a reality check.

Todd-
Thank you for your support. I am a Navy Veteran and I appreciate it when people go out of their way to thank us, our troops for what we are doing. Please pass this on, continue to show support for the effort that they are doing. With the media painting a negative picture and politicians that are stabbing their troops in the back, the troops need all the positive support that we can dish out and give them.

Start mailing care packages, visit the VFW, American Legion, AmVets to see what kind of support that you can give the troops.

Thanks again for your support and your welcome!!

people are transforming into content textile little sheep which will bend on the flock tenders command. Obama (in case you have faith in such) is the anti christ the bible talks approximately. he will lead us into dispair by the top of his term. you think of issues are undesirable now purely wait till you notice what happens while Obama care kicks in. substantial layoffs and hour decrease backs will take place by using fact employers will could desire to hold scientific well-being coverage and soak up 50% of the well-being care expenditures if their workers artwork greater effective than 24 hours each week. there is likewise an greater effective payroll tax to cover this. Obama is a wolf in sheeps outfits i did not vote for him the two time. He has used is his govt powers to take our God given constitutional rights remote from us. The similarities of what he has finished to the beginning up of the Nazi regiem are so comparable that is scarey!

I was gonna but then you went and ruined it all with that sentimental theistic silliness.

I'll do my own.
Thanks for doing what you're paid to do.
Keep your head down and come back safely.
I hope the government treats you better than it treated we Vietnam Veterans but I doubt it.
They'll still make you jump through hoops to get the help you will need.

YES ! ....... I will, too, but I think it is time to bring them home now.
It's good that servicemen and women will do as their country says but I think the reasons (whether true or not) for being there are over now, so let's leave them to sort out their own world. It's not good that so many (mainly Americans) are losing their lives for a "war" that we/they shouldn't evn be in.
.
We love you Guys/Gals, but we want you home for Thanksgiving !
.
Any Chance ?

I support all of the brave people fighting for what they think is right no matter if they agree with me or not.

I just hope that they soon start to realize that Killing is not the way to find peace.
