" O God, thou art my God, early will I seek thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is" Psalms 63:1.

Won't you seek the Lord this early morning? He has a drink of living water for you if you will only seek Him.Please, it won't take you long, go into your prayer closet, knell down on your knees and asked Him to be with you today, Praise Him and you will be blessed.

A prayer closet is where one goes to pray to God alone. You can find it in Matthew 6:5-6

OLIVER S: I think I see your problem. You have a problem with hearing and seeing. You obviously treat the street ministry just as you did my question. You make up your mind about whats going on before it happens.Next time that street preacher comes by listen to what he/she has got to say.You will be blessed.

don, thank you for that thoughtful post. I pray daily throughout the day and I know God hears me. But when I want to go into the Holy of Holies where it's just God and me and no distractions I will literally go into my closet to pray. I feel the Holy Spirit's presence and a closeness to God that is indescribable.

OH YES Don, have done that already, and more. TO begin a day with prayer and worship is the only way to begin a day To be in GOds total presence is something you cant really put into words, there just arent any to truly describe it, tho some come close. Awesome. Glorious Wonderful... and so much more. These arent just words, they are an attempt to explian how perfect it is to be in the presnce of God and HIs Hol SPirit.
I hunger for HIm and I thirst for Him, and you are right, He is the living water, the manna. Most of us live on yesterdays manna, just barely getting by. REmember to eat of new manna daily and grow closer to God. Live and operate with the SPirit He sends to us, the HOly SPirit.
Thirst for Him, Drink of the living water. Its made new every day to refresh us and get us thru whatever the day may bring.
God will get us thru everything that comes along if we stay in Him, abide in Him. The secret.. perfect obedience just as Jesus obeyed the father. and it can be done by the indwellling of the Holy Spirit. Let GOd lead you to His full light, and never go to darkness again. ONce you have, you wont ever go back.
I ask God to be with me every moment of every day. I walk in HIs spirit, live in His spirit, and love in His spirit. I want it all and I count it all as joy.
How could anyone say no to GOD???????
Another great one Don, press on. God is using you as a mighty vessel to lead others to His kingdom. Remind them we can have a taste of kingdom living right here and now, by staying fully in His will.
God will always bless you my friend. We are friends in Jesus, and I ask God to bless you daily.

I like what sulema said,"
I think Christians should pray orally and mentally all the time. I do. "

We should practice both, daily.
We should have a quiet time with God and learn to pray without ceasing as the Apostle wrote in 1Th 5:16 Rejoice evermore.
1Th 5:17 Pray without ceasing.

Good question Don. Thanks

If you are talking about praying in a closet you got the wrong verse. It should be:

Matthew 6:5-6
5.And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6.But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly

in other words anyone who prays openly is a hypocrite. God has told you to only pray in your closet.

This is the best verse to show those annoying loud street preachers. Shuts them right up (for about five minutes until they decide to ignore it.)

God tells us to pray to him always, not 5 times a day.

No... I thank him when He helps me and I talk to Him sometimes just for the hell of it, because He's a person.
