a man with two hobbies took great care to post a letter to an address he knew didnt exist.why?

ok i'll put you out of your misery!!
the man was a stamp collector and an elvis presley fan. the U.S post office brought out a specil elvis stamp, so the man sent it to a ficticous address.it was returned marked''return to sender'' the title of one of elvis's greatest hits!

Something to do with stamp collecting...Mmmm will put on my watchlist....very good

Edit doing my head in.....
I am going for it being a trick question and the hobbies have nothing to do with the letter.
So his hobbies are stamp collecting and photography...and he is sending a letter to Santa. No connection between the two.

He was a philatelist and wanted the letter returned to sender with a franked stamp.
He was a philanderer and wanted to use the franked letter to prove to his wife that he was not an adulterer too.
