Doesn't that seem a little silly for an all powerful being to rely on humans?

That is a very good question. after all humans can't be trusted to pass down religious stories even if they are written down. They'll change and exaggerate stories to make them sound more extraordinary than they were originally. So why would humans be expected to do differently

The Bible was written by holy men inspired by the Holy Spirit. Though humans are frail and feeble, God is glorified when, in reliance on the power of the Holy Spirit, the good news of Christ crucified for sinners is clearly and faithfully shared by humans!

[6:7] Even if we sent down to them a physical book, written on paper, and they touched it with their hands, those who disbelieved would have said, "This is no more than clever magic."

[6:8] They also said, "If only an angel could come down with him!" Had we sent an angel, the whole matter would have been terminated, and they would no longer be respited.

[6:9] Had we sent an angel, we would have sent him in the form of a man, and we would have kept them just as confused as they are confused now.

[6:10] Messengers before you have been ridiculed. It is those who mocked them who suffered the consequences of their ridiculing.

[6:11] Say, "Roam the earth and note the consequences for the rejectors."

[6:12] Say, "To whom belongs everything in the heavens and the earth?" Say, "To GOD." He has decreed that mercy is His attribute. He will surely summon you all on the Day of Resurrection, which is inevitable. The ones who lose their souls are those who disbelieve.

[6:13] To Him belongs everything that dwells in the night and the day. He is the Hearer, the Knower.

He couldn't pass it along, himself, would he? If you went outside and all of a sudden a big face came through the clouds and said "I am God, believe in me!"
You would not only freak out, you would say "I seen Him! He is real!!"
How can He see your faith in His existence if he proved to you He existed? You need no faith, its been proven.
What would it mean if He decided to take it upon Himself to convince you of his love and existence? Everyone's faith would be meaningless to Him.
Its just not faith, its whats in your heart. Thats all that matters.

He did send his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, the Word of God, to deliver his message to us.
Did all of us listen? Read a gospel and you will come to the conclusion that Jesus Christ is truly the Word of God.

yep. doesn't that make it sound like it's made up? just a little? like one person wrote a story he thought he was hearing in his head...then another person read his story and believed that, and he decided the lord was talking to him too...and then another...and so on and so forth? in the end there's no way to prove it.

I believe it demonstrates how much God loves us and trusts us over the long haul. Our ability to chose how to respond to his message is one of God's greatest gifts, and one of our greatest responsibilities.
