As many JWs will already know, I asked a simular question earlier (http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070831113723AA8vFDd&r=w).
This is a follow up question. Really, it's probably the next most obvious question....that if internet witnessing is good (which I feel it is), it should also be fruitfull?
Thanks again for all the informative feedback you gave me before!

Evolution is a fairy -Good question. Jesus was the messiah. Messiah actually means, "Anointed one". Anointed by whom? God anointed him. Therefore, Jesus and God are not the same person. God created Jesus; he was the first of all creation (Col 1:15).
The translation at 1 John 1:1 can be translated that Jesus (the word) was "divine", or "a God". The "a" has been added in the NWTranslation because the Hebrew language does not have Vowels, therefore, according to the context, you add vowels where appropriate. We know that there must have been an "a" before God because after that verse it says that the "word" (Jesus) was with God. How can someone BE with someone if they ARE THAT person? Secondly, the "a God" is not blasphemy because Jesus is not just a man. He is the "Prince", the "Anointed one" etc. The bible refers to anyone who gets praise/worship as a God. Even Satan is called the "god" of this system. That doesn't mean that Satan is The Almighty God. Jesus is prominent/like a God

Thanyou all for your feedback! It definately seems possible to start studies over the internet, even if you can't, at least we're still teaching people the truth (which could start a "seed" growing).

Danny H - Hi there, you raised a good point about whether Jesus was worshipped or whether he should be worshipped or not (may be you or I can raise this question in Y/A).
It is possible for Jesus (as an angel) to be praised and forgive because God has GIVEN him the authority and wants us to acknowledge that. But the solo worship should only go towards the one God, Jehovah (Rev. 19:10), like you said, otherwise it would be idolatry.
I didn't mean that Jesus was worshiped, but rather that if even Satan is worshipped, then (as John says) Jesus deserves to be regarded like a god (to venerate him) or to be called "devine", like another translation puts it.
To say that Jesus is an angel is no more an insult than to say that God is a spirit. Angel literally means "messenger of God". An angel is a spirit messenger of God. Wasn't Jesus Gods messenger? Was Jesus not called "the word"? What was Jesus purpose on earth? To tell people about God and help them "turn around".

Yes.
Consider this experience from page 45 of the "2004 Yearbook of Jehovah's Witnesses":
[quote]
Two [Jehovah's Witness] sisters in field service noticed the following message posted at a bus stop in Portugal: “I am a student of psychology preparing a thesis on the subject of superstition. If you can help me, please reply by E-mail to the following address . . .” That afternoon the sisters were featuring an article in The Watchtower entitled “Do Superstitions Control Your Life?” So they decided to answer the E-mail and offer the magazine. A week later the woman who had posted the message sent them the following reply: “Thank you for your attention. I am sorry for the delay in answering. I would like to receive the magazine you mentioned. Recently, every time the Witnesses have approached me, I have been either rushing to work or catching a bus and have not been able to talk with them. I understand you offer Bible courses, and I am interested in having one.”

Hi D, I know what you are talking about and I too had the same question when I was having my Bible Studies back in the early 90's. When this was going on the Bible Students(as they were called back then) were just starting to understand what the Bible really taught. If you look at some old pictures of our buildings from the 50's even, there were crosses on the buildings until the correct wording came out that it was a stake or a tree that Christ died on, not the cross. This has to do with the light getting brighter. In other words, understanding the Scriptures. Not all Scriptures are easy to understand as the Book of Rev proves. Any of Jehovah's Witnesses today will tell you and use the Bible to back it up, that only Jehovah knows the day and time. I'm sure you know that even Jesus and the angels didn't know that when he told his disciples. Some things are still not known even today and will come out as the time gets closer. As this man that said May 21, 2011 was wrong, so were the Brothers at the time they said a date. We know better and being human, learned and have corrected the mistake & took the counsel that was given. I can say with full honesty that no Witness will ever do that again.

I did get one!! I have been witnessing to this lady via the internet for growing on 7 years! We had begun studying via e-mail in the Require brochure, which I had sent her. But after a while that wore thin and we weren't getting anywhere in the study. So I asked her if I could send someone to call on her. But she didn't want me to because her husband was sort of abusive and she was afraid to make him angry. But I have kept in touch with her and just recently she had some problems with her teenage daughter and I helped her by giving some advice that worked. And so this time when I asked her if she was ready to have someone call on her, she said she was ready and that she knew the end of this system is near. So I have turned in the "Please Follow Up" slip and hopefully someone will be calling on her soon.

My Mother-In-Law is JW she has had a couple of internet bible studies... Before her first attempt I had to teach her how to install a chat program, make a user name and work the chat program.. The woman can be sweet (very occassionally) but when it comes to computers she is completely out of her element..
The people she did studies with were not people she met on the internet but people she met in real life who chose to study over the net..
I am not sure how it went for her as I was simply asked to help set up the computer programs and teach her how they worked...
She and I have come to a very shaky understanding that I am not interested in her religion and she tells me about it anyway... It could be worse she could still be living in our guest house instead of 120 miles away... LOL

If Jesus was an angel (Michael the Archangel), how could He forgive sin, or be our judge? If He is a created being, how could He be worshiped without that worship being idolatry?

as for internet witnessing i'm not sure but i have had a phone study but i also encouraged her when she was established to study with someone in the nearest congragation as it would be easier to start attending meetings with someone right there to help it' not us but Jehovah that makes it grow.
