Things NOT to do now and until you graduate High School:

No Drinking
No Drugs
No Smoking
No Sex
No Gangs
No Tattoos

Things TO do :

Study hard, get the highest grades you possibly can in school.
In High school, take all the Math, Science and AP courses you can. Keep up the grades. Take SAT Prep courses and Max out the SAT as best you can, especially Math and Verbal.

Extra curricular activities:
play a sport, even an Intramural one.
Volunteer in the Community
Get Leadership experience by joining a club or two and become involved with things like Student Council and Scouting. Take JROTC if it is offered. Alternatively, Sea Cadets.

Your HS guidance counselor will be able to assist you in getting the Nomination.

Just remember that the USNA only takes the best of the best and you will be competing against thousands of other possible Middies, and the Academy only takes a couple hundred each year at most.
