Or do you know anyone who is in any way, shape, or form? What do they do? And what is your take on the following?

"Volume 3, Book 43, Number 624:
Narrated Anas:

Allah's Apostle said, "Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or he is an oppressed one. People asked, "O Allah's Apostle! It is all right to help him if he is oppressed, but how should we help him if he is an oppressor?" The Prophet said, "By preventing him from oppressing others.""

Not to disparage you or your religion, your thought provoking question led me to mine.

I don't watch television news as much these days as I used to, but I do wonder if the Islamic community actively pursues this teaching? What I mean to say is, with all due respect, are there any groups --religious or otherwise-- that actually try to prevent extremist terrorists, who happen to be Muslim brothers, from oppressing others??

Just curious.

Peace be with you.

We all know people who act opressively...

Thus many people wanting to help woman in muslim countries who are being opressed.. (Not all women in muslim countries feel they are being opressed but some do and should be allowed out from under the opressors..)

As for the verse.. Interesting but not followed.. Thus the continues cycles of opression...

i've known too many-they have oppressed people of different races, religions, sexual orientations..they seem puny, but the damage they cause is HUGE-
that passage makes a lot of sense-in preventing someone from doing evil, not only are that person's potential victims protected, but that person can be freed from his own evil
