I don't know where all the money goes, alot of things in mormonism are secretive until you become highly involved. I love mormons, as do I love all people. They are highly structured have great family values, work hard in their preaching and would become really great christians. Yet, their later doctrine is suicidal. My grandma always said, "It's a great religion to live, but not so great when you die." I can't help but agree. The problem with tithing is it was enulled and done away with according to Hebrews 7. It was only given to the a particular set of tribes to give another tribe help because they had no inheritance. After Christ died, the thithing law was done away with among Mose's Law and now has become a Jewish Fable. There is nothing wrong with asking for an offering, but when the word tithing is mentioned, it has become a commandment of men, because God does'nt deal with it anymore. Try and get a Christian to understand this... Yet the bible is clear. "For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof." Hebrews 7:18

give us your sources, please. The church has what is called "The Bishops Storehouse." This is for those that are in need of assistance. This is not a permanent solution. It is also up to the visiting and home teachers to keep in contact with their presidency and the presidencies job to contact the bishop of their ward or the branch president. We also have other sources to help the elderly, but it is also up to the children of the elderly to assist them also. The temples, though small in number are not used for church services. Only for sacred ordinances we temple worthy members take part in. You are forgetting about the many chapels and stake centers around the world. There is the "Perpetual Education Fund" that helps those in third world countries fund an education and advance in society and in this way also help their family leave their impoverished ways. Tithes go to building of not only temples, also they are used to fund the building of new chapels and renovate older buildings to be used for the future.

You have never heard of the Bishop's storehouse? Whenever a member has the need, the church fills out a food order, it goes to the B.S., and other members sort of "go shopping" for them. And I gotta tell you, much of the food is made by church-owned factories and it's the BEST stuff I've ever tasted!!

I am an atheist, but was raised mormon. I find their religous view to be insane and racist, but they do help each other out and provide food and jobs etc to poor and needy morons in the church.

I don't know much about Mormons, but it seems like you are asking a good question. One of Jesus' main tenants was service to the poor. But Mormons aren't really Christian...
