google your religion, as I know very little about it.
Even I, a non-believer in all religions, thought your beliefs were very odd.... don't you folks see it too?
It's a bit way out there. Aliens coming to earth to mate with humans, planet Kolob, magical undergarments....
I'm not bashing, I'm just approaching this with a religion-free agenda and mindset.
Do you folks truly believe in your religion?? Why??
Note to catholics and the other religions: Don't gloat!!... your beliefs are no better!

You've obviously found some pretty tripped out Mormon lore. Apparently there are some very creative people out there creating websites. Anything you didn't find on the churches official website, lds.org, is probably a partial-truth at best.
Mormons don't believe in aliens mating with humans. I don't know where you heard that. Sounds like maybe someone has us confused with Scientology.
We don't wear "magical" undergarments. The garments we wear serve as a constant reminder of the covenants we have made in the temple to serve God and follow his commandments. They also provide protection from the power and influence of Satan. People of many religions wear special symbolic or sacred clothing or jewelry. For example, Jews wear Yamahas, Catholics wear rosaries, and leaders of many religions often have special dress robes. They wear there’s outwardly for everyone else to see, we wear ours inwardly as a reminder for ourselves. Why should that be so strange or hard to understand?
Perhaps being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, modest, healthy, industrious, charitable, etc. in today’s society is odd. If so I take being odd as a compliment.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has over 12 million members worldwide. It is the world’s fastest growing religion. Within the US it has more members outside of Utah than in Utah. Throughout the world, it has more members outside the US than in the US. It is the 4th largest religion in the US and the 10th largest in the world.

We don't believe that aliens came down to mate with humans.. that's scientology, totally different from us. We never said we were the normal Christian sect. I do admit that some of what we believe is a lot different from what others believe, but I think you need to read something put out by the church. It might help you to see what we really believe, given by someone who is an actual member. Here is a site that could help you. Also, I would suggest going to www.mormon.org . It is the churches website.

Dionysus is right I mean if you want to learn what we believe you should go to source. Namely the church official websites.
But if you want to know if it's true ask God yourself.
Actually at first I thought the beliefs were way crazy but the way the missionaries approached us made a huge difference. They asked us to read and study but then they told us to pray and as God if this church was true and if Joseph Smith was a prophet, and if the Book of Mormon was the word of God. I did this and I got a yes and it was the most incredible feeling I've ever had, and I invite you to do the same. Because if I never prayed I would have never recieved an answer from God, and I would probably be criticizing the church as well.
If you have any more questions feel free to email me from my profile

I agree with you, all of Christianity belongs in mythology. But unlike the other religions Mormonism is easier to scientifically and historically test.
It is in there doctrine that the Indians are descendants of Hebrews that migrated by way of boat to the Americas from Israel around 600 B.C. DNA testing shows however that most of the Indians came from Asia. There is a small group they found called Haplogroup X, which does trace back to Europe, the Near East, and North Africa. But most scientists think that group X traveled across Siberia to the Americas at a time that predates the Book of Mormon events.
Archeologically it is a developing field and is controversial at best. While I have seen interesting artifacts uncovered, the Book of Mormon isn't nearly as well supported as the bible. If the Book of Mormon events really took place, then the archeological and DNA evidence places it in the Great Lakes area.
Historically there are various facts working against it. If analyzed closely the Book of Mormon blends in very well with Joseph Smiths 19th century environment. It plagiarizes from the King James Bible (mistakes and all) bares elements of Evangelical Protestantism, and claims that the Indians are descendents of Hebrews, which was one of the most popular ideas Josephs time, there are other influences as well. Angel Moroni and the Golden Plates fits nicely with Joseph’s occult practices such as treasure hunting, and the first vision is like a fish tale, from the first account to the last, the story just keeps on getting better and better. There is more, but I will end there.
Most Mormons I know just believe because that is what there family and culture believes. They think that a magical being named the Holy Ghost gives them warm fuzzy feelings confirming that it’s true. I agree with the above posters, be careful where you get your information from. Avoid anti material, but don’t avoid Mormon critic material, there a huge difference between the two.

Aliens coming to Earth? Kolob? Do you seriously believe everything you read on google? Married people wear undergarments, but we don't think that they are magical. We don't believe in that stuff. If you want to know what we REALLY believe in, go to www.lds.org.

Why don't you learn to crawl before you try to run a marathon?
I'm not saying you couldn't do either, but things are done in a specific order. A 1-year-old cannot run a marathon. Many can barely walk. Go to the link posted below and start with the basics. You have to know your ABC's before you can write a novel.

I believe you need to do a little more studying. It seems you have a lot of half truths. Go to and connect to beliefs. It might help you gain a little more knowledge of our beliefs. I also recommend reading the Articles of Faith. This gives a summary of our beliefs.
