It depends on who is giving the sedation. Too much sedation will cause you to stop breathing (and that would be bad).

We have to bail out nurse or surgeon administered sedation cases from time to time.

If you have an anesthesiologist or CRNA with you, you'll be fine.

The main risk factors for sedation are oversedation, problems with heart rate or rhythm, and paradoxical reactions.

hello user, these 2 are often used together for surgeries. there aren't any side effects. with the sedation, you will be hardly aware, if aware at all, of what is going on...its like a twilight sleep. there is less risk because you won't be going under with the use of anesthesia. good luck! i hope this helped. :)

Local anesthesia under sedation is used for most procedures which do not involve opening a cavity,cranial,pleural or peritoneal.
Totally safe.
