Yes. You can develop food allergies to the things you eat every day, suddenly, and no matter what age you are. I am 40, and discovered my list of food allergies at 37, and continuing. My skin itches like mad, and is always affected by dairy foods. Try staying away from foods containing milk, replace it with lactaid. The stuffy nose may mean you are allergic to bananas...I know I always feel like I am near a dog, when I've eaten a banana. Write down what you eat daily, and have a simple blood test for those foods. You can ask your doctor or visit an allergist. I have 30 pages worth of food allergies stemming from major food like Wheat, Dairy, and everything made with flour. Food allergies are based on a number system. Mine are 1's and 2's. The 2's make my throat and tongue swell up with throat itching. The 1's make my skin itch, or the roof of my mouth to go numb/and my tongue to tingle.
If you have Excema, these things are generally caused by wheat/dairy products. Write down what foods make you itch, and take it to a doctor. Good Luck.

Sure you can develop allergies in your 30's. Allergy is a defect in the immune system. Think of your immune system like a cup. Every day you pour some water in. That cup has a capacity and eventually your cup can run over! That's when you start seeing those symptoms. Many things can effect your level of sensitivity to allergens. The amount of sleep you receive, your hormone levels (male and female), and the amount of stress you have. If you get a rash with the itching, that can be a symptom of food allergy (itching without rash is usually inhaled allergen). If you want to try to do it yourself approach, you can keep a log of everything you eat (that means everything..not just the chicken..but every little spice or flavoring that went into cookinjg that chicken) and look for relationships between the itch and diet. Or you can try an elimination diet, That is where you discontinue all foods you suspect for one week. Then after a week, you add one of the suspect food back in. After two days, add another..and another and so on.
You could also just go to an allergist and have allergy testing done. They can perform simple skin tests that will determine exactly what triggers your allergic reactions. Allergy is nothing to sneeze at. Because it is your immune system, if you don't keep it under control, you will slowly run your body's defenses down and find that you are catching everything!

You do not have to be born with allergies. Unfortunately, allergies and intolerances can just occur overnight. One of the most commonly undiagnosed medical condition is Coeliac Disease (gluten free diet). A lot of allergiese are just environmental and a common sign is dark rings under the eyes and sinusitus etc.
Keep in mind that skin reactions can be delayed hence it could have been a food or rye grass (etc) that you were in contact with 24-48 hours ago so sometimes hard to pin point what is upsetting you.
My experience stems from our own children having allergies and anaphylaxis to eggs, nuts, dairy, wheat/gluten, soy and other fruits and additives and colours. The list goes on. Husband also allergic to prawns although he used to be able to eat them in droves until once he hived up and neck started to swell.
We actually started up our own website www.allergyblock.com.au. Feel free to read more information under allergy info tab.

you can easily get allergies to certain things in your 30's. people can be born with allergies and have them all their lives, some people grow out of their allergies, and some people develop allergies when they are older and either have them the rest of their lives or eventually grow back out of them... I became allergic to shellfish when I was 16.

My yellow lab has intense allergic reactions, she has a tendency to be continually scratching and he or she gets primary ear infections. The vet can likely supply you some doggie benedryl or some pores and skin cream to help the itch.

Mine started at 27 but they do run in my family, so usually there is a genetic connection. My sinus problems have been really allieviated by irrigation...which is simple and cheap. You can by one called "sinus rinse" at major stores like cvs and meijiers. I still have benedryl on intense days.
