At our cancer center, we have social workers who deal with issues such as this...I would contact a social worker at the facility. You can also contact the American Cancer Society for information...additionally, some pharmaceutical companies, if contacted directly have assistance programs for chemotherapy medications. Be honest with the Director of the Billing Office and maybe they can work something out.

you can always call the billing department and arrange payments with them. you can also contact the cancer center social worker and he/she will know of patient assistance programs for drugs and sometimes the doctor will have drug samples to help for your first month or so.

you can ask the nurses in your hospital regarding a referral to a medical social worker, or you can go down to the business office and they will help sort out your in patient hospitalization fees
