make ur dog drink milk!! lots of it...if he don't wanna drink it..force him to by opening his mouth & putting spoons full...closing the mouth & blowing in it's face...that'll make him swallow.....i know if a human accidentally ingests poison, they say to drink lots of milk & of course go to the ER...but u can't afford to take ur pet to the vet...so yea, try this out....i know that alot of vets don't require you to pay right there n then if in an emergency...you can pay later...or make payments...just talk with the vet...they'll work with you...hope he lives :(

dogs getting into rat poison is a sure sign that it will start shutting his organs down.. not being able to afford a vet is a lame excuse.. you shouldnt have a pet if you cant afford a vet... never the less I can tell you to try something and if it works, great, if it doesnt you may expect him/her to just get worse..
To induce vomiting give it a TEASPOON of hydrogen peroxide every 20 minutes until it vomits.. This is what we used to do when an animal came into the clinic where I worked, depending what they had gotten into they would need to get a charcoal treatment..
If the dog is under 20 lbs, give a half teaspoon..
good luck and I am praying for your puppy..

Hydrogen peroxide will induce vomiting, call a vet and ask how much if it should be done at all in this case first, the other posts are probably right on about the vitamin K, I never had to deal with this.

I agree your dog must be taken to the vet, however, to induce a dog to vomit, you give them peroxide. This is non-toxic, but will make them throw up, and hopefully anything they've just eaten. I have a first-aid dog book here, and know that if my dogs eat something I am afraid will take their life, I will be giving them peroxide - start with 2 tbsp and if they don't throw up by that, continue giving 2 tbsp until they do.. Might take more for a bigger dog..

If he's already having symptoms,it's too late to induce vomiting.Rat poison usually contains anticoagulants, which cause internal bleeding.the only treatment for this type of poisoning is intravenous vitamin K and blood transfusions. If you can find the poison container and tell us what the ingredients are,it may be helpful, but not likely. And since you're not sure,it may be something else all together.A vet is your only option,I'm afraid.Borrow some money from someone,or sell something.

This is one of those situations where you absolutely MUST take your dog to the vet, and worry about paying for it later!
If it was your kid, would you be asking this question? Gosh, I hope NOT ... you'd have already called 911 and you'd be on your way to the hospital.
There's no one here who can help you if your dog ate something poisonous ... you need emergency vet-care, and you need it RIGHT NOW!

I'm sorry but the only way to help a dog thats eaten rat poison is to take them to the emergency vet. I had to do it for mine once. Its cruel to just let the dog suffer =( Perhaps you can set up a payment plan? If you don't get your dog help it will probably die.

If you can't afford to take an animal to the vet then you shouldn't have an animal. That's like buying a car when you have no money for gas. Except you're dealing with a living feeling animal capable of feeling pain. That's beyond sad that the dog has to suffer in pain because you have a dog and can't afford to get him emergency medical care. Call the vet and tell them the situation. Maybe they can tell you what to feed your dog to make it vomit. If you're dog did eat poision and you don't take it to the vet then it probably will die. I am not trying to be mean, I am just telling you the truth. Then maybe you will think twice about having a dog that you can't afford to care for.

Don't try to make the dog vomit if you're not sure what he ate. Inducing vomiting can damage his esophagus and stomach if he ate something corrosive. Instead, try to get him to a vet as soon as possible.

As yet another poster reported, ex-lax is chocolate flavored. examine the field and notice if there is extremely chocolate in it or probable carob (that's non-poisonous to canines.) often peroxide acts tremendously right now, did it flow down or trickle throughout? you are able to desire to continually call the vet lower back and ask in case you're able to desire to re-administer. whether she does not vomit, you are able to assume diarrhea for particular. i could shop her over difficult floor flooring.
