Because they are weak, scared, and incapable of original thought.
But you sound like you're on the right path. Keep questioning and remember to spell check.

I feel that people have organized religion for the same reason that they have organized anything-- sports games,
PTA, community meetings, Rotary Club, any clubs you can
name. They like to feel a part of something bigger than they
are, and meet with people who believe the same way they
do. Some people feel secure being with a big lot of others who are calling God the same thing, dressed similarly, about the same financial circumstances, all being in the
same place, same time, weekly, daily monthly, or whatever they consider to be the right thing. They are herd animals,
as most of humans are, and need validation for what they
believe and do.
These religions usually have written in a book, that they
are to gather together. So that cements their doing so.
I personally do not celebrate this way. It doesn't make it
wrong; just that it is not my choice. Many others feel this
way and do not congregate to worship either.

- Gods are egregores:
" ...An egregore is a kind of group mind which is created when people consciously come together for a common purpose. Whenever people gather together to do something and egregore is formed, but unless an attempt is made to maintain it deliberately it will dissipate rather quickly. However if the people wish to maintain it and know the techniques of how to do so, the egregore will continue to grow in strength and can last for centuries."

think of it this way. Many christians refer to God as Heavenly Father or God the Father. That means that we acknowledge him head of a spiritual family. Just like our own families parents have rules and expectations for their children to obey. On the grander scale our Heavenly Father runs his household (church/kingdom) the same way. Without organization and weekly meets we would not be where we need to be....or a place that is pleasing to our Heavenly Father. Church gatherings can be very personal. It all depends on how you apply yourself, and sometimes even set the tone for yourself before going to church. I like to tune into some talks by leaders on tape and listen to church hymns while getting ready for church. I am filled with the spirit when i do these things and am better susceptible to the things of the spirit. You'll be amazed how many things you can learn felt and impressed upon your mind that arent even mentioned in Sacrament or classes.

The govt. has somewhat proven there is no real need .
Tell me where in the constitution of the USA,the free world, it requires one to abide by religion or even in the Dec. of Independance does it mention the obligation of religious belief yet the free world has survived and the justice system has worked to some extent even if it does need upgrades .
and still people have the gaul to tell me we have a christian govt. what a pile of bunk.

I agree, I think it matters to God more of whats in your heart and trying to be a good person rather than following a certain book of laws.
Nobody can 100% prove any organized religion is the right way to follow God. I just believe in God and thats it. Maybe you should look into deism.

Religion means "Way of Life", which suppose to guide everyone in all aspects of life in this world and to obtain success for the Eternal Life in Hereafter.
It is up to the individual to study the various "Ways of LIfe" and to adopt the best one.
Having Faith and Beliefs is not enough but one has to give its evidence from his/her practice too.
I have studied the Hinduism, Judaism, Christianity, Buddism, and Islam, I found that Islam is the only way of life which has answers to all the Human problems.

It's human nature to want to do the same thing as "everyone else", to be a part of an organized something, to fit in, belong.
Religion, is the perfect place to do so.
It's a shame we don't strive more to thrive in our differences.

Thought Bill Gates was. The Pope doesn't own the Vatican and I don't think he keeps all the money from the collection plates.
