Seriously, im watching tv with the family, and I can clear out the room in less than a second. Why am I cursed with skunk-smelling gas? I mean, I eat healthy! And its not just today, it's everyday!!!
Is there a biological explanation to my problem? (and no its not like I do it on purpose)....some help on how to stop being so "gassy" would also be very helpful :-)

As you probably know, there are two types of gas expulsions (farts), the silent but deadly ones, and the loud but usually odorless ones. They are actually caused by the breakdown of different types of foods by your digestive system.

The Smelly Ones - Usually it is meat, beans, and eggs, or dairy products that cause these. The others are caused by green vegetables, fruits, most grains, etc. If you eat a lot of the types of food that cause traditionally more odorous gas, you may want to try to balance your meals more with foods from the other type. Also you can take things like Beano and Gas-X to alleviate the problem.

You may just be prone to gas :) Some people are just like that. You can try some over-the-counter meds like Gas X to soothe it a little bit. If you feel that it's really a problem, go to the doctor! Sometimes excessive gas can be a result of an allergy. I have a family member who is allergic to tomatoes... she never knew it was an allergy but after seeing a doctor, she found out that the reason she got bloated and gassy after certain foods was because there was tomato in it! She still eats them, but is sure to pop Beano or something before :-P

That gas is caused by sugars that your body is unable to break down. Instead gut bacteria breaks it down and the bacteria discharge is the gas that you are expelling. A doctor might be able to tell why your gas smells worse than other people's gas. You might have an infection for instance.
