In the country of origin, the royal dog breed (Pekinese) was crossed with a Shih Tzu every x number of generations to keep the Pekinese a Pekinese. Now, that would be considered breeding mixed breeds. I suspect that some will look like a Pekinese, some will look like a Shih Tzu, and some will look like both.

But,please, please reconsider breeding your dogs. There are SO many cute little dogs dying in shelters every minute of every day because people insist on breeding ,breeding, breeding! Please have your dogs fixed and enjoy them. Why do you need puppies when you already have two perfectly cute little dogs? Also, because they are both pug - nosed breeds, there is the possibility of the female needing an emergency C -section ,and these types of puppies are often born with hydrocephalus ( water on the brain) or eye deformities.Breeding is not that easy. All kinds of things can go wrong, and the money you think you're going to make may be spent on vet bills, leaving you with nothing.

I bred AKC Shetland Sheepdogs and showed them in conformation shows and obedience trials for a couple of decades. Every litter I bred was in hopes to produce a better quality specimen of the breed for me to keep. THAT is why I bred my dogs.
A few years after I got out of breeding, I discovered the greatest sport....dog agility! I bought a gorgeous CH sired Sheltie puppy, and had him neutered. Why? Because he was to be my companion.
9 years later, when my Sheltie was aging and I realized he was mortal, I decided to get a puppy for "emotional protection" for the future and my 2nd agility dog.
I researched, and decided on a Border Collie. Found a lovely, registered little female. I had her spayed. Why? My male was neutered so there was no chance of accidental breeding in my home. Because My BC was my companion. No mess, no conflict, no worry of scent attracting stray dogs, I could take her in public and to agility trials any time I wished, and no worry of future pyrometra.
Get your dogs spayed and neutered. Easier for harmony in the home, less mess, less stress, no male marking, calmer temperaments......
raising healthy and happy puppies is NOT a money making venture....there is no good reason to just produce puppies, particularly mixed breeds

Furry mutts, just as they would be. Do not cross breed your two dogs. Have them spayed and neutered. Let some of the puppies already born find homes and you not add to the over population.

WHY WHY WHY would you let them breed? Please don't. Is this even a serious question?
