If figure this is fair play for the stupid "Why don't Christians burn people at the stake anymore?" question.

Megatron. Hitler was certainly not a Christian. He was an aggresive athiest who follwed the writings of Nietzsche.

Of course your the same guy that said they burned witches in Salem, so I don't think I'll take any history lessons from you.

Hitler was a Roman Catholic and most of the Nazi party members were also christians. Christians have historically hated jews which is why Hitler built his death camps in the most christian country in Europe ,Poland.

Ther have been several stains upon Christendom, this being one. We must remember though that during this time Christians were defending themselves against Muslims. The onslaught was all out "holy" war.
Of course many other things have been done in the name of Christ that are appalling- Rome declaring Christianity the state religion and so forth.

Good point, although i don't approve of inflammatory questions like this. And actually SOME atheists still kill religious people in death camps, like in North Korea for instance, where most religions are illegal. But the vast majority of atheists are good people and would never approve of something like that.

But you really shouldn't be insulting atheists like this. Do you really want to be like all the "evangelical atheists" (that's what i like to call them) on here? I know it can be tempting to make fun of them, since there constantly ridiculing and insulting those who disagree with them, but it's best not to be like them and it doesn't reflect well on christians if you are like them.

EDIT: To everyone who is asking what death camps, i think she's referring to Soviet Gulags, as well as similar camps in North Korea and China. In those countries, like most other communist countries, religion is generally illegal, and you can be imprisoned for following a religion. And Chinese and North Korean prisons are among the world's most inhumane.

touche'

I'm a Witch, and I gave a reasonably balanced answer to that question, which was that perhaps we are becoming more civilized, but that perhaps each of us is capable of acts of torture, just think about our troops acts in Iraq....

Anyhow, whether Witch or pagan or atheist or Christian, aren't we all glad that such behavior is outlawed, and strongly discouraged, at least here, and at least most of the time?

I totally agree. Turnabout is fair play. I've said it before, but I don't think they will much like it. (Notice how they all think that Hitler was a Christian, even though he called himself a pagan after embracing Marxist ideologies. He used that status to gain his own evil ends, which was to conquor the world.) (And as if Hitler was the only one. Americans bombed Nagasaki and Hiroshima. Americans don't like to think of themselves as that evil)
