I'm sure my parents did and I'm equally sure I wasn't it. Is it normal though?

Its normal to favor but it isn't right. Be careful or you run the risk of damaging the other kids self esteem.

Absolutely. I don't care what parents may say ("I love all of my children the same") there is always a favorite. I was my mother's...but now my oldest sister is. Mom was married 3 times, and each man had a favorite.
You can look at any family who has more than one child and you can see who the favorite is.

Yes... it is common.
Even though the parents try materially to keep everything even-steven, their approaches to each kid will be different.
For example, when my dad had any of us 3 kids out in the workshop with him, he would yell at my brother, he would gently coach me through the task, and he would call my kid sister a "retard" simply because she didn't pay attention the first 2 times.

well my grandmother had her 2 favorite out of the 4 kids they had, and my mom the youngest was not the favorite, and you can still tell.

i do no longer think of it is favorites, i think of it is basically diverse with each and each infant and how the courting is percieved by way of each and all the kinfolk. i think of all mom and dad love all of their childrens the two.
