Swiss Federal Census records?

I wan't to search for my Swiss relatives in the Swiss Federal Census.I was told that i can not search the Swiss Federal Census using my relatives name?I was told that the Census does not have peoples names.Is this true?Please reply in English Michael

The information you've got is correct. The census' results are published as statistical data only.

Why not use a simple Swiss phone directory?
