When you buy a tub you just open the lid and there's the icecream. There's no seal of any kind inside or out.

Me and my friend bought 2 tubs of Dryers ice cream and they weren't sealed at all. I've noticed this before too.

That's a very good and interesting question! I know that a couple of brands have a plastic strip on the outside that you just break the tab and it opens but for the most part there is no further protection. It's probably just another accident waiting to happen!

Last night I was really upset. Two of the Dryers ice cream containers that I'd just bought had been opened before me and some ice cream had been taken out!!! It wasn't leveled off and smooth at the top like normal. Its only me and my Siamese cat, and unless she's smart enough to open the freezer door, it couldn't have happened in my house (and no I don't take Ambien😄). This was from an upscale grocery chain too. They are going BACK..scary!! Dryer's really needs to seal their ice cream.

Wow I don't think I have ever seen an ice cream tub that wasn't sealed, makes me really wonder. You should pay close attention when buying ice cream the next time I guess.

What kind of ice cream are you buying? Whenever I buy ice cream there is the plastic seal over the lid on the outside, and layer of plastic to peel off under the lid, on top of the ice cream itself.

I just opened a tub of this evening that was sealed.

Breyers shrink wraps their cartons, several other brands put a plastic seal around the tub top...

The tub's they have here have a plastic tape like band around the opening, It is hard to break off ! but the square containers have nothing! It is probably cheaper to pack that way!

Oh I know! You need to try the Philippine ice cream. They seal their ice cream in golden tin containers. I ought to stop by your place one time and give you one of those treats.

:D

the box is sealed. That's why you have to peal it open. Most ice creams I buy do have the clear wrap on them.
