If the believers get so angered at the atheist's posts and the atheists get so angered at the believer's posts, why don't the offended/angered just block the users who don't agree with them and hence make their own "customized" Yahoo Answers?

Oh people do. Not to point out any one group, but lets just say one person of certain religious choice made it their quest to block all those who had say, the opposite beliefs that they held. It's entertaining to click on a question only to discover you've been blocked.

I'll tell you why: The believers are absolutely convinced that they are right and their ways are true (faith eh), While the skeptics are certain that the believers are wrong (science, reason, etc...).

It's an interesting relationship. The atheists can disprove most of the seemingly irrational believes that are held by the faithful, but they reach a point where they are unsure themselves so they are constantly looking for answers, or come up with theories (big bang, evolution, etc..) which offer a more probable answer to those tough questions than anything religion can offer.

The believers have faith, they need no proof. However their believes require them to try to save those who do not believe.

Argument begins..........

each side is trying to convince the other that the other is wrong and they are right. I think so far there have been zero conversions, but hope springs eternal. Plus, for me, I confess that it is amusing to read some of the more ridiculous Fundie posts. They are so preposterous sometimes, you gotta just laugh, like, damn, they REALLY BELIEVE THAT SHYT!!!

Doesn't "thumbs-downing" an answer remove it from your sight by default? In essence, they ARE creating a customized Yahoo Answers that will display only what they wish to see.

What's the fun in that?

personally, I don't understand why people take online communications so seriously. Truly, how does this community affect their offline lives? If it does, should it? Does it possibly mean their priorities are a bit off?

Because that takes out the fun of arguing. Plus it involves a little more work.

You ask too much of mankind. It must be done for us. We the sheep should be separated from the goats, but the wolves are really herding us all.

you did put this question better than that other one i found on the subject, yet you just can't go around blocking things out, ie the public viewing of your past on this site. blocking out is for unsure little beings who lack the strength too face truths, be they appreciated our not.
