Remember, love, an "unbeliever" can mean someone who doesn't believe in Spam until they see the can in front of them. ;-) It is not a word belonging solely to Christians or the Christian church.

Your niceness has already drawn us in - as friends. If one chooses to be a Christian then I hope they follow the words of Jesus and love one another. I have read the Bible and found Jesus' words to be profound, just as much as I have Buddha's, and Nelson Mandela's, and James Agee's, and every single word my girlfriend speaks. I will not convert nor do I wish to be told I'd better. I am hoping that the way you spread your faith is in the kindnesses and compassion you show others. We are all humanity.

(((Humanity))) ;-)

I would say both. First of all, the Holy Spirit working in you ought to make you a nice person -- one who is full of compassion for others, concerned about spiritual matters - and so you are elevated. This in turn can draw people to want to live a more spiritual life. Ultimately though, we could say it is the Holy Spirit.

We are the vessels through which the Holy Spirit often works, but He may use other means to reach one of His. If we are living epistles, as we are instructed to be, God is more likely to work through us, but all the niceness we are capable of will not win one soul without the conviction that only the Holy Spirit can bring to the heart of man.

Certainly being rude will only give the non-believer cause to doubt your word. We are suppose to be kind and Loving. When we are not, we show other that this may not be the right way to turn. Jesus said be the light of the world. You would not hide a light under a bushel basket. Neither should we be anything less than the shinning light of the world.
If everyone light just one little candle, what a bright world this would be.

All our 'niceness' accomplishes is creating opportunities to witness to others. If we are unfriendly or rude, it will just be a turn-off to others, as we would not be showing the love of Christ. We should treat them in a way that makes them want to get to know us better, and put us in a position to be a witness to them for Christ.
It is the Holy Spirit who draws unbelievers to saving knowledge and genuine repentance.

It is the Holly Spirit that does the drawing.

but the Holy Spirit works through our words of love and understanding.

and it is the Evil one that works through the words of hate and condemnation.

my prayer is that if I cannot speak love and understanding, that I will at least not speak hate or condemnation.

Whatever means God chooses,he draws men to himself,by the Holy Spirit. Quite often the Holy Spirit, moves through those he indwells,in making Himself known,to those who do not believe.

EXO 4:11 The LORD said to him, "Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the LORD ?

Just cuz people don't share the same definitional idols of your 'religion' does not make them doing what they are supposed to do.

1 Cor 7:17 Only, let every one lead the life which the lord as assigned to him, and in which God has called him.

Unbelievers will be drawn to Christianity when they see something good. Jesus knew this.

That's why He said, "They will know you are my followers by the love you have for each other."

I don't ever remember reading where the bible quotes Jesus as saying "Brow-beat people who don't believe the same way as you and try to scare them into God's arms with threats of hellfire, and berate them smugly till they join your church."

Don't recall reading that in any gospel....
