Favorite myths about illegals:
The United States would collapse if illegals were deported
They do not have access to government benefits
They pay taxes
They work for slave wages
They do the jobs Americans won't do

My favorite myth is the one that they are responsible for 12 murders a day. This comes from Representative Steve King of Iowa, a known wacko. It's been reported in exactly one media outlet, World Net Daily, and is frequently cited here. On the other hand, these claims were examined by Captain's Quarters, a staunchly conservative, strongly anti-illegal immigration blog, and found to be completely without merit.

People here actually knows what they are talking about.
Most data are just educated guesses and estimates. Most are composed by people with agendas. Alot of the stuff are over exagerations created, because they don't quite understand what was being said in the first place.
THe one that gets me the most is Illegal put in more taxes that they take out. Common sense says it's impossible for them to pay there fare share even if we take in account of the bonus from the social security. The poor was always subsidized by the middle class.

Myth - illegal aliens are all "honest, law abiding people who just come to America to feed their family".
(excuse me while I wipe a tear from my eye) Pfffft.
Myth - illegal aliens do jobs no American will do.
( look around, it wasn't illegal aliens who built this country, and I have proof).
Myth - illegal aliens work harder than US citizens. LOL.
Myth - illegal aliens have "good family values ".
( so many little illegal alien girls with babies, what "values"?)
Myth - this land "belongs" to some old extinct Mexican tribe of cannibals called assteks. ( That one is really a stretch.)
Myth - illegal aliens are "indigenous" to the USA so they have "rights". (No, guess that is the poor education they get in their own country, what is it, about 85% do not get to the 7th grade)
Myth - illegal aliens do NOT get any public assistance (it doesn't take but about 5 seconds to prove that wrong, the ones who come up with that yarn are really a riot).
Myth - illegal aliens love their children more than anyone else in the whole world loves their own children. ( talk about a racist statement)
Myth - illegal aliens aren't racists, only white Americans are. (one only has to read what they write on these boards to know that is a lie)
I could go on all night, this is so much fun, there are a million more, I'll save the rest for the next time you ask this question.

My favorite myths: "All of them are drug dealers!" (SOME maybe- but I know if my family was starving I would die trying to save them!) , "They're going to take over America!", "We ought to deport them!", "They should be felons!" and blah, blah, blah, blah the list goes on and on!!!! Good grief!
I've been to South America, here's the facts for you:
1. Women and young girls prostitute themselves on street corners to provide a meal for their families.
2.The South American government is mostly corrupt or lacks the resources to get ahead. (America imports crap from China but doesn't think of investing and importing from South America, which would lower the cost of products for the rest of us!)
3.There are literally NO jobs down there.
4.Drugs are sold by teenagers to get food.
I've seen all this and more. Until you've been there please shut up!
Basically it is an economic disaster down there, and will become one for us if our Government doesn't proceed to take steps towards a long term practical solution.
