Yes it does blur the lines between fantasy and reality. Much religious thinking (claiming to influenced by unseen forces, claiming that unseen beings exists, claiming there to be places and entire realms for which there is no evidence) would be considered delusional in a non-religious context. I don't know why the topic of religion seems to change the rules of what is considered sane. But it blurs the lines too much for my tastes. I like rationality and consistency in my thinking.

I find alot of questions where word definitions play an important role in how one should go about answering them.
that said, id like to start by pointing out that in modern times, we see angels appear in the "fantasy" genre.
Reality, nowadays, is a wide view of topics, including religion.
With this knowledge, we can clearly see angels appear in all corners of most religions. If there were ever a more blatent blur, then angels would be it.
But i think it goes further than that, based on what can be found in the bible. Even the occasional Werewolf appears in the bible, leaving the reader stripped of what to believe in. THE book, not just any book, just acknoweledged that a creature considered a fantasy creature to exist? how can this be?
i find myself believing that their are no definite differences between fantasy and reality.

Some, though not all, religions attempt to blend reality and fantasy as one. However, what normal, sane people may consider fantasy the religiously devout would consider reality. Thus, the definitions of both are purely subjective based on individual perception, regardless of any religious affiliation.

The definitional idols of a religion create the basis for one's reality. Religions give people the definitons for where do they come from, what are they supposed to be doing while they are here, as well as what happens when they die.
The definitonal idols also form a person's perceptions. What is good? what is bad? What type of people do they associate with?
The definitions people give their realities is what spurs the 'fightings' between theists and OTHER theists as well as none theists. There basic defintions are different.

Back in the day, there was something that definitely blurred the line between fantasy and reality, and it wasn't religion.
By the way- are ill-informed assumptions about other people in themselves a form of self-delusion/paranoia that can blur the line between fantasy and reality? Hmmmm. Maybe you need some counseling??

Religion is not fantasy since it is not a magical display. It is reality in every way for followers of all faiths.

Wait a minute. I can't see a thing without my glasses. You know, I think it looks like a blurred nightmare reality. Hideous! Taking advantage of the poor and/or ignorant is how religion came to be in the first place.
I think my fingers are possessed. They keep misspelling everything.
LOL I'm a backspacer. I'm a backspacer. Here I come now.

No actually reality becomes a real state of being Matrix like (metaphorically speaking). Before I knew Jesus I thought my perception of this world's system was correct. It turns out I was operating on finite fuel to base my conclusions on. I could only see a limited view of things; I needed to get outside myself in order to have the correct perspective.
When the God of the universe showed me that He condescended Himself and put on human flesh I could trust Him. He was the test pilot for humanity and past with flying colors.
Believing in Him is the antithesis of conforming your way of thinking to this world. Instead believe in Him and be transformed by the renewing of your mind in order to see things from a heavenly perspective.

Yes. Religion is bad news on a lot of issues.
But spirituality isn't necessarily a religion. Relationship are not necessarily religions. Those are the better ways over religion.
Religion is too religious.
