For example, how many days should we plan on being at Disneyland and Family Adventure to be able to utilize all the rides/features for kids ages 2 & 3?

Will they like Universal Studios or are they too young?

How about Sea World or the San Diego Zoo? Or any other thing you may suggest our kids would like in that area.

Any suggestions to help us make this family vacation a success is much appreciated.

Make sure to see the parade at Disneyland. Spend most of your time in Fantasyland, that's where the child friendly rides mostly are. Definitely do Small Worldand Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. California Adventure does not have an awful lot for small children- you should beable to do it in half a day.

Sea World, the zoo, and the Wild Animal Park are all very nice places to take young children. If you go to Sea World, take them to the pet show and the whale show, but skip the rest. the zoo has a very nice children's zoo and the animal park has an awesome playground and a waterplay area (so make sure to bring dry clothes or swim clothes for that).

Legoland, Universal Studios, Six Flags, and Knotts are not worth it and don't have much for young children.

Don't try to cram too much in. Remember, you're supposed to be relaxing. Don't pay attention to the people who say "don't take toddlers to Disneyland". We've had season passes since my kids were about 2 and 3, and we've had fun every time. It's tiring, but a good time.

The best places in Disneyland would be Fantasyland, Critter country, and Mickey's ToonTown. Type the words 'city pass' into your browser and it will take you to a site where you can purchase a the city pass and get discount tickets. The pass includes a 3 day park hopper pass to Disneyland and California Adventure, 1 day at Universal Studios(they are a little young to enjoy this one), 1 day at Sea World and Your choice of 1 day at either San Diego Zoo or the San Diego Wild Animal Park. Adult city pass costs $235 and for children it is $189 this saves you like 30% on what you would pay if you bought all the tickets seperate. These tickets dont have to be used all in 5 days. You have 14 days to use them all so you could take 6 or 7 days if you wanted to. You know take a day away from the parks in between them all to get a break from the crowds or something like that.

As I said before Universal studios is probably not going to be a popular one for them but they would probably love the zoo and Sea world. Disneyland has all the great kids rides in fantasyland as well. They might remember more of the trip if they were older but I am sure they would still have lots of fun. Sounds like you guys are in for a fun time. Have a great vacation!

there's also legoland in san diego which I haven't been to but I heard was wonderful. I think san diego is a great place to spend some time. The zoo and sea world are both wonderful but, you probably shouldn't do more than one in a day. All three of those places are dertainly different in what they have to offer but they are also similar in that they are "parks" where you have to walk around and see and do and visit. I think a 2 yr old and a 3 yr old might not really want to do the zoo and sea world on the same visit. I'd pick one of them if it were my kids at that age. I think Disneyland itself is really a one day place. You could spread it out for two days just so you can take it a little slower. The thing about Disneyland is that after several hours you can really get overwhelmed. I would say you'd be better off going there for 2 days, perhaps for a limit of about 5 - 6 hours each day. Even Disneyland is in the same category as the zoo and sea world -- the kids might not really be able to dinstinguish that much difference between all those places. You might want to consider going to a national park or the beach or the mountains for a total change of pace, along with your other plans for all htose busy places.

take 2-3 days for disneyland, and get a hotel near the park, so you can take a break during the middle of the day and nap!!

Universal studios is way too old for them I still haven't taken my 6 yr old, probably wait until he's 8-9.

Knotts berry farm is near disneyland and very kid friendly, they have kids area with snoopy and friends.

San diego is a long deive from anaheim, over 2 hrs. I would only do the zoo or sea world if you have alot of time to spend.

The San Diego zoo is great, so is sea world! :) My little cousin (he's 10) lives in San Diego and he said Lego land is "lame" lol so you might want to skip that one.

Personally, we are waiting until our kids are older (like 8 to 10) before we take a Disney trip. There are height restrictions on a lot of the rides.

We just took our 1 and 2 year old to Knott's Berry Farm last week . We were there for a couple hours and only got on 4 rides. My kids hated the waiting part. Me and my husband would take turns waiting in line but we will wait a couple years to do that again. We haven't done Disneyland yet but getting a hotel close to it is a good idea.

Yeah, major suggestion, wait until they are four and five. They are more than likely too small to go on most of the rides. They are still in the whiny cranky stages...you will probably have to be carrying them for most of the day because it is a LONG walk for little feet. It would best if they were older.
