My sticker had 08-2007 and we are still in 08-2007 why pull me over if you had no information on when my "actually" date of birth is? It was not 09-01-2007 when he pulled me over. So, it was ridiculous when there are more important crimes. I didn't run a red light or do anything illegal. He pulled me over and then he asked for my id and then look at my tag and main the comment. But, physically looking at my 08-2007 tag from his car isn't a good reason and seems very illegal.

Becuase your tag expired August 31, 2007.

They're not going to wait until September first to bust you. Then your tag would've been expired for two days.

You have to get a new tag BEFORE the expiration date. Not wait until/after it.

He pulled you over because all of the places where you could get a tag were already closed. You CAN'T get another one before it expires. However, there is almost always a 5-day grace period, so what he did "was" wrong.

The date on your tags has nothing to do with your date of birth. That is on your driver's license.

Hope this helps!

you missed my point.... he was NOT talking abour your birthday. he was NOT telling you that your DRIVERS license was expired. he was telling you that your LICENSE PLATE was expired... that piece of metal on the back of your car that has numbers and letters on it was expired.

the attitude of "there are more important crimes than the one i did, stop wasting my time w/this and go catch the real criminals" is a poor attitude to take.

"Almost always" doesn't make the police officer wrong if this is a matter of that particular state didn't have a 5 day grace period.

He probably called your license plate in, and if you are the owner of the car he can get info on your license without you giving it to him. That's probably how he knew.

Illegal is illegal. If you broke the law, you pay the price.
