He wants you to be born again thru faith in Jesus Christ.

"But as many as received him (Jesus), TO THEM he gave the power to become the Sons of God, even to them that believe in his name, which were born.... not of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but were born of God"- (John 1:12)

There is a short answer and a long answer.

The long anser is one you should find out for yourself: read all the scriptures prayerfully and God will let you know what he expects. Look up things like Amos, Isaiah 58, Micah 6:8, Deuteronomy, Proverbs, which are pretty clear. Also read the stories of people in the Bible and see what God expected of them. Read also Jesus' prayer for believers, and Paul's letters to the churches. If you have a red letter bible, read all the things that Jesus says.

The short answer has already been given by others: Jesus' summary of the law in Matthew 22:37-39; Mark 12:30-31; Luke 10:27-28.

Likewise, God has already made his new covenant with Christians, even though they have not received the fulfillment of all its promises. The covenant requires faith precisely because the promises are not yet fulfilled, but the promises have been given and the covenant has been made. The agreement and relationship has been established. God makes his new covenant with individuals when they repent of their sins and are forgiven through their faith in the blood of Christ. He then seals them with the down payment of the Holy Spirit as a guarantee of their eternal reward (2 Corinthians 1:22; 5:5; Ephesians 1:13–14). And what are the Fruits of the Holy Spirit--Galatians 5:22-26. I hope this helps.

The word Christian in the Greek means to be Christ like, to act, talk, walk, and respond as Christ did. Here are some scriptures for that: Ep. 5:2Col.2:6 1JN.2:6 2JN. 6 Philippians 2:1-18, James 1:23-27. Hope this is what u r looking for, the church has gotten away from this teaching. God Bless

Love God with all your heart and soul and every fiber of your body. And love your neighbor (meaning everybody) the same -John 15. Accept Jesus Christ as your savior (Hear- Romans 10:14-17, Believe- John 3:16, Repent - Luke 13:5, Confess -Matthew 10:32,33, Be Baptized - Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38 and Live Righteously - John 8:31) and study his word daily to be a strong Christian. I hope this helps, good luck and I will keep you in my prayers.

2 Peter 1:5-11 New Living Translation
5 In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, 6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, 7 and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone.
8 The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But those who fail to develop in this way are shortsighted or blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their old sins.
10 So, dear brothers and sisters,* work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen. Do these things, and you will never fall away. 11 Then God will give you a grand entrance into the eternal Kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I will try to keep my own commentary to a minimum. Lets start here because this is very important:

James 1:22 But be doers of the word, and not only hearers of it, blinding yourselves with false ideas. 23 Because if any man is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man looking at his natural face in a glass; 24 For after looking at himself he goes away, and in a short time he has no memory of what he was like. 25 But he who goes on looking into the true law which makes him free, being not a hearer without memory but a doer putting it into effect, this man will have a blessing on his acts.

Some things to avoid:

Galatians 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are clear, which are these: evil desire, unclean things, wrong use of the senses, 20 Worship of images, use of strange powers, hates, fighting, desire for what another has, angry feelings, attempts to get the better of others, divisions, false teachings,
21 Envy, uncontrolled drinking and feasting, and such things: of which I give you word clearly, even as I did in the past, that they who do such things will have no part in the kingdom of God.

And then something to strive for:

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, a quiet mind, kind acts, well-doing, faith,
23 Gentle behaviour, control over desires: against such there is no law.

Some more guidelines from the scriptures:

Micah 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

2 Timothy 3:14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

("All scripture" in Paul's time would have consisted of what we call the "Old" Testament, the "New" Testament had not yet been compiled)

1Corinthians 7:19 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God. (In other words, keeping the Commandments are more important than where you are from)

1John 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Revelations 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
Revelations 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

By now you should see a theme that runs, if you wish to check, from Genesis to Revelations which defines the righteous life of a believer.

Psalms 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

The whole expectation for mankind from the Almighty can be summed up in one verse:

Eccleseastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

I'm aware you do not want my point of view but please hear me out.

One young man in Scripture (LK 18:18-22) had approached Jesus and asked what he personally needed to do to "inherit eternal life". We all know Jesus' answer to him. There was also a lawyer who had approached Jesus and asked the EXACT SAME question (LK 10:25-37)....but got a very different answer!

Instead of looking for a pat answer, we should ALL dare to enter into the depths of our hearts and ask the Lord the very SAME QUESTION: "Lord, what must I do to inherit everlasting life?" Then use that same courage to LISTEN very carefully to his reply to what he wants of YOU. Then DO it. Remember he always challenges/invites us to go beyond our little comfort zones. But he is faithful and he always gives the grace that we need.
