No, it is not. However, due to some 'past memory' --so-called 'past life' experiences, some people have come to that conclusion. I'd like to offer a more reasonable conclusion.
Some facts:
First of all, the Bible says: it is appointed unto man once to die, and then the judgment.
Second, we know that our cells have memory. They replicate themselves after 'their own kind'.
a)A heart doesn't turn into a liver.
b)When you see someone bump their toe, you feel a pain reflex in your own body. That is your body's memory of when it happened to you.
We pass down our genetic weaknesses to our progeny. They
are written into our DNA. Basically each generation 'corrupts' their future children's programming a little due to lifestyle choices and experiences.
Babies in the womb are emotionally and physically affected by our experiences. Certain diseases cross the placental barrier, and stress can cause the baby to be more colicky than if the mother is relaxed. Even after the baby is born, the food we eat can affect the milk, and our stress can 'sour' the milk so the the baby's behaviour is impacted.
These are all well known facts, so:
Conclusion: if our cells have memory, and we only die once, then couldn't those memories be someone else's residing in our cells? To me this is much more likely than coming back as a flea, caterpillar, or Jack the Ripper.
Surely with all our technology it shouldn't be to hard to stir up memories of some past dramatically fearful or extremely happy moments. Those would be the ones with the most impact (I've never heard of someone recounting a past life grocery store shopping trip)--usually something extremely memorable...if we can pass diseases onto our children, why not memories?
Something to think about, a little less dramatic than a whole new life, but maybe more plausible?

Read the book "The Reincarnation of Peter Proud" and then tell me if you believe in reincarnation.
I truly believe in reincarnation, I have had old lives, very old lives bleed into my current life. It is not always a plesant experience and can freak me out. I don't know why it is usually bad experiences that I seem to relieve, I do wish it was good experiences. But, yes, reincarnation is totally a reality.

The answer will depends on your religious belief. For Buddhists, yes but for Chritians the answer is NO. The bible says that it is ordained unto man to die once and then judgement. So there is no question of reincarnation. Of course, like many many things in this world and especially with things like life and death, you get all sorts of ideas and beliefs. Nome of them by itself can be proven by human beings as such. It is a matter of your faith - if you believe in it, then you will find that there is evidence to support it. Keep searching but dont wait for too long for if you find the wrong things to believe, well, you might just never come back from the dead !!!

Yeah, I believe it. They tell me that the Marquis de Sade was me in another life. Heaven and Hell don't exist and there is no accountability for you actions in the afterlife. You just get reincarnated.

After all we resemble our grandfathers in height, our mothers in shape of nose, our uncles in gait and our granduncles in appetite. This means body and soul reincarnate to fulfil unfulfilled desires.
