Then does "all" mean "some"? I don't get it. I didn't see where "under the age of reason" was specified.

Or was it supposed to be in parentheses? "in Adam all (over the age of reason) have sinned... that doesn't sound right either.

Again, a misreading and misunderstanding of Scripture leads to faulty theology. We are all born sinners, with a sin nature, inherited from Adam. There are no innocent ones, all are born with sin, and all sin, from the crib onward.

Psa 58:3 The wicked are estranged from the womb; they go astray from the belly, speaking lies.

If you think the term "wicked" is too strong, look up the definition in Hebrew, it applies to all of us.

Psa 51:5 Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me.

We are born in sin. There is no age of accountability, nor age of reason. God decides before we are even born whom He will save and whom He won't. Could God save all babies? Sure, He could choose to consider all babies of the elect, but it is totally up to God, not some arbitrary rule or age limit we humans think we can put on Him. God decides who will enter His kingdom, and who will not, it is all up to Him, not us.

You will get different interpretations here.

In my opinion, we sin due to our own choices not because of Adam. Just like for example, a man gets several life sentences for a crime and then dies in jail, their not going to get his son or more to make up the rest of the time.

as far as "the age of reason" Those that die before the age of reason (which on average is about 8 years old, when a person knows good and bad and can choose.) go directly to heaven because they can't sin. nothing to do with Adam, it's just they don't understand the concept of sin and of wrong decisions, so they can't be held accountable for what they do.

Some churches and beliefs have only recently took a similar stance like this. But others have followed this from day 1.

Do you roughly know when you started to think for yourself, be able to rationalize, knew how to lets say drive a car with a liscence - as that is the Law that under a certain age you are not responsible enough operate a vehicle.
With God there is also for everyone individually a time when He knows we can understand.

All are responsible for the original sin, but only those old enough to understand and repent of that sin are expected to do it.

A baby can't understand the concept of sin. A baby can't comprehend it and repent of that sin. So a baby isn't expected to face punishment for that sin.

But a person who can reason, who hasn't accepted that sin and repented for it, is held accountable for it and punished for it.

GOD is MercyFull

EveryBody is born with a Messed Up Spirit (Lost, Disconnected from GOD Almighty).
This is what Damns (seperates us from GOD) us.
Sinning dosen't send you to Hell, but Leaving the Earth for Good without Getting that Messed Up Spirit RECREATED will.

Jesus Died on the Cross so we could get Our Spirits RECREATED.

GOD gave us FreeWill.
You have to Reach An Age where you can Freely Decide to Accept Jesus Christ as your Saviour.
This Age is Different for EveryBody, and some (mental problems) never do Reach this Age.

YOU HAVE TO KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING, when you Decide to get Saved. (not yelling!! :)

EveryBody who Leaves the Earth BEFOR reaching this Age gets their Spirits RECREATED (Saved, Born-Again) by GOD Almighty (Jesus) and goes Straight on to Heaven.
None are Lost.

All have sinned. All have fallen short. All are condemned to die as a result of that sin. God has placed certain guidelines by which those who have died will be judged. Some to life, some to death forever in hell.
I'm just glad that as a mere mortal, I don't have to be the one who judges fellow humans. Angels are a different story. The saints are to judge the angels. The case will be presented, we will get instruction from God and judge accordingly.

This age of reason, is a term I never heard before. Church doctrine speaks of an AGE OF GRACE, also the despinsation of grace. Scripture teaches us that we are saved by grace, not works. Also it teaches us that we are justifed by faith. So thru Yeshua, that is what I trust.

Mankind is inherently sinful according to the OT. However, one has to willfully choose to sin and children (as well as those individuals who are still childlike in their mental faculties) cannot be mature enough to willfully sin.

Yes, I think so. It is by the redeeming sacrifice of Jesus that they are saved. Limbo was never a doctrine of the Church; although, some theologians subscribed to the theory.
