Just say NO. Tell her you can't treat you or your cat that way.
Tell her if the cat goes you go too.
Tell her why doesn't SHE go and you & your cat will be fine?
Joke with her a bit- don't turn it into a battle- but get your point across through good humor.
Above all- don't pout. She's used to that, and you want to try and catch her off guard by approaching her in a different way.

Wow, thats messed up. I'm assuming you are a teenager or you would just move out. Being a mom of a teenager myself, I don't understand how your mom could do this unless something was wrong with your cat. You need to ask your mom, nicely, to sit and talk with you about this. Ask her why, without interrupting, she wants to trade your cat. Maybe she has a reason for it. Don't call her names or yell at her, trust me that stuff just makes us more mad. When my daughter wants something she comes up to me and talks to me like an adult, sometimes if it is reasonable I will approve. The biggest thing my daughter does, is when I say "NO" she clamly says ok and walks away. This shows me that she is mature enough to handle the "No" and sometimes that changes my mind as well. Also, talk to your grandparents and or dad about your concern and maybe they can talk to your mom. But you really need to try to calm down to talk to her, parents usually can be pursuaded when they are talked to with respect and honor. If she still says no, at least your cat will be going to family where you can still see him, and not to a shelter or abandoned somewhere, like my parents did with my cat.

talk to your mom try to explain to her y this cat is so important to u. then try to see hings from her point of view. She may think that she is doing something nice for u,but u have let her know that it is your cat and your responsibility. So if u want to give it up it is your choice not hers. Your mom also has to realize that your grandparents never agreed to these terms she can not just assume like that it can led to misfortune. this cat is apart of your family she has no right to trade him out. I agree that your mom has no right to be doing this it is really wrong to give something up that means that much just because your mom doesn't think he is cute.

Explain to your mom how you feel. Tell her you are very attached to your cat and would be very upset to see him go. Let her know that you would be angry towards her if she were to replace it with a kitten and how the kitten could never replace the cat you have now.

awwwww i would cry for a VERy loooonnnngg time.....awwww
it breaks my heart but i mean you can tell your mom that you will take full responsibility for him.... Tell her that you will clean up the litter box everytime he uses it and you will maintain the area as clean as you could possibly, tell her that you can prove to her how responsible you are. If you love your cat as much as u say you do then take responsibility for him.
Good Luck....
plz dont give ur cat away :( he will miss you :(

In a respectful manner tell your Mom how you feel
about your cat. Be sure to be polite & say how important
this is to you. Ask your Mom to please keep the cat.
