He says they are too fattening but I am a 20 year old petite lady and I have always wanted to have one but never was allowed by my parents. They wouldn't take me to McDonald's at all. My husband tells me I have to obey him no matter what, but this lady down the street said it was okay to have a Big Mac...I'm confused!! :(

I hope this is a joke posting. The bible says women submit to your husbands. this means if your husband has made a decision about the family unit, has prayed about it and is sure he wants the family to do something and you do not want to do it then you should let him make the decision. Example husband wants to move to another state. He is absolutely sure it will be a good move but you are not. allow your husband be the head of the family and make that decision with your impute. submitting to your husband has nothing to do with your personal every day decisions. I have never had a Big Mac either I always got the Quarter Pounder with cheese and them amazing fries now I am hungry uggh a mac attack see you all later.

You're so cute!!
I'm not sure I believe this rather unique post...
But, if you are telling us the truth, I'm wondering...where, exactly, do you live, and how old are you? McDonald's has been an American institution for quite some time...it's rather hard to imagine an American teenager who has NEVER tasted a Big Mac...
And why would you think you HAVE to obey your husband in such a trivial matter?
I say, hey, if you want a Big Mac, drive yourself down to the nearest Mickey Dee's and buy yourself a Big Mac. (While you're at it, get yourself some fries and a milkshake, too.)

But I have to warn you...they aren't all they are cracked up to be...
You might find yourself hugging the porcelain and apologizing to your poor, abused hubby...

*rolls eyes*

EDIT:
KUDOS to Diane for her well-thought-out advice!!
You GO, girl!!

Um... if your husband is telling you that you have to obey him no matter what you should probably divorce him because it sounds like an abusive relationship to me. He can't control you, if you want to try a Big Mac it's up to you and none of his business. While it is true that eatting too many will make you fat and they are VERY unhealthy, it isn't right of your husband to think he can just tell you not to eat what you want.

If you intend to allow your husband to be your master and you his slave go right ahead.. If not take yourself down and have a Big Mac..

Always remember your husband didn;t command you not to paint his penis blue with yellow polk-a-dots.. So stop by the paint store on the way home.. And remember a sleeping husband is a much easier canvas to paint..

I thought slavery was outlawed a long time ago. You should be able to do what you want. The word "obey" shouldn't be used in a marriage. I know they aren't healthy for you, but if you husband cares about you so much to not eat one, he could go about it in a more respectful way. He should talk to you, tell you why and be a lot more diplomatic about it.

Not necessacarily obey, but ocassionally a big mac is Ok, but dont let it become your sole source of nutrition, they will kill ya.
as for the Obey part, unless your faith says you have to then you may well have to.
He probabbly just wants you to stay a cute tiny trophy wife for him.

I have no idea where you are from or how you were raised. It sounds to me like something out of the 18th Century. You do not have to let your 'husband' dictate your actions. If you want to do something and you are of age to do it, do it. If he gets upset or wants a divorce or something, you are better off without him. There are laws against this kind of thing, you are not a slave and do not have to bow down to anyone, least of all a controlling husband or parents. It won't hurt to try one. They are not good for you, but if you have never tried one, how will you know yourself. In my opinion, you have your own choices to make and no one, NO ONE can make them or have the right to make them for you.

I am truly sorry that your husband misconstrues the meaning of "obey" in the marriage vows and also because he is manipulating you and the situation. He's being controlling and if you allow him to control something so meaningless, what will he wish to control next? You've got to nip this in the bud and if needs be, go back to the minister who married you and have him/her explain to your husband what it means to love, honor and obey! Good luck!
