You would be cited for No Valid License, and because you have no valid license to drive the car, your vehicle would be towed and impounded. Between fines and towing costs, you're looking at 400-500 dollars. Being it's been expired for 4 years, you may have to go through the whole process of obtaining a new license.....written test, and driving test. Get to the DMV and get it taken care of before you get stopped. The DMV will be a lot less painful than getting the ticket.

Driving with an expired license is the same as driving without a driver's license at all. You could be fined several thousand dollars possibly and loose your driving priviledges for anywhere from 6 months to several years. Your car could possibly even be confiscated, meaning the state would take your car and sell it at auction and you would never get it back. You could even spend some time in jail, as well as get a permanent criminal record, as driving without a license is a misdemeanor in most states.

It depends on your country, state and who pulls you over.
As said by others, renew it. I know that may require a complete driving exam. But do it or quit driving before you get bad press, fines and or jail time. That jail time could cost you more then the fine as many have lost their jobs while in jail.

I really would take the time to get them renewed. You have been real lucky, so far, just don't push it.

A lot of bad and expensive things could happen to you. It would be so much better to pay the 20 bucks or so to get the license instead of paying bondsmen, lawyers, losing work time, and doing time instead.

For real, get it taken care of soon.

Depending on the State, expect to be arrested and your vehicle towed to impound. Just renew it and quit screwing around.
