As New Yorks you may want to consider
Bergen County
Fair Lawn, Waldwick, Ramsey
they are all close to the train station
I used to live in Waldwick. A good working class town and affordable housing. Also good resales.

Think about it.

Plus you have buses and trains in the towns to get to work in NY.

The answer depends on whether you want to continue living in a city and if you have your own car. Hudson County has good urban residential areas (except for the waterfront areas of Hoboken, Jersey City & Weehauken, which are horrendously expensive). For less urban, there is the Montclair area.

Be forewarned, though, that NJ has some of the highest property values in the country and it's reflected in the cost of living, too. Although, if you do drive, we seem to have among the lowest gasoline prices (but the worst auto insurance rates).

Well I lived in New Jersey basically all my life, but then 3 months ago, I moved to Arizona, where exactly I am now. New Jersey is the most beautiful place and has everything! I lived in Monmouth County, its kind of an expensive place but it is worth it! I mean the beach is like 40 minutes away, and they have Six Flags Great Adventure! But if you don't want to go to expensive, try Farmingdale. Farmingdale is a really nice place with the kindest people!
