In war, nothing is certain except change. For now, if he is alive, he eludes us. Tomorrow, new facts arise and a tactical uncertainty becomes an advantage. Recall how long Saddam Hussein avoided capture. Nobody is perfect and eventually the enemy (just as we do) makes mistakes. So, if the guy is dead, he exists as a rally point for our enemy and to this end, the enemy will go to great lengths to ever keep us from finding him (alive or dead).

Sooner or later we'll find him or find out where he is buried, but in reality...what's the difference?
Osama is really a small fish now. He accomplished what he sat out to do and capturing or killing him would not solve anything but maybe make him a martyr.

Rumor has it he's dead, some say for a while. The fact that with a $50,000,000 bounty on his head, somebody would have turned him in by now adds a bit of support to the theory.
