Yes, goldens usually have larger litters. Your dog can die from retained puppies. Go to a vet NOW!
ADDED: Ya know, this is why us mean, stupid EXPERIENCED breeders tell people to educate themselves before breeding. An educated breeder would have had the mother x-rayed to know how many pups to expect, and then you would have known she was in trouble.
ADDED:
Mary R, OK so you might not be uncaring, but in my mind the vote is still out on the rest. If you had educated yourself, you would 1. NOT have let her breed at all. 2. Would have had her spayed 3. Would have had her sonogramed or x-rayed As far as what they're doing in Russia, who cares? Let me show you what we're doing here in the USA: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4630182195637750564&q=euthanasia+shelter&total=30&start=0&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=9

OMG! You need to get your girl to the vets right now. She can die if she has any more pups left in her. This is why you should always have your dam checked with in 24 hours after whelping. Golden's never have just 3 pups. Their average litter six is 6 to 8 pups. After this long no the rest of the pups are dead too.
Please Get you girl into the vets ASAP!!!! Before you lose her and have to hand raise the 3 pups you have.
I cant even begin to tell you how irresponsible you have been with this whole thing!
I am livid!
Well madam you didn't educate your self enough. You didn't have a sonogram done before hand or a x-ray to see how many pups your Golden had been caring. You did not recognize the stalled labor and took it as being normal. Very dangerous thing to do. It really doesn't matter now. I personally would not bred her again until your very sure she has no damage to her because the pups was in her so long. I stand by my answer. Your both were irresponsible!

Surely you noticed that she was still pushing! No experienced breeder would have allowed this to go on for so long. That poor dog, she must be exhausted. There could be other dead puppies in there. You must get her to the Vet to be checked. I can't believe you have let this happen.
If you were inexperienced why on earth didn't you consult with your Vet at the outset of the whelping. He could have talked you through it.
I never leave my dog's side when she is in whelp and know every sign to look for. If she pushes for more than 2 hours then I know she's in trouble and I take her to the Vet straight away.
Please take your dog to the Vet now and he will tell you if there are any more puppies waiting in the birth canal. If you don't act quickly the Dam could die and you will have to rear 3 puppies yourself.
If your dog survives this ordeal, and I sincerely hope she will, please have her spayed to prevent any further pregnancies.
I'm sorry to be so blunt but when I hear things like this it just makes my blood boil.

Probably not alive. It is unfortunate that you didn't consider having a sonogram the next morning after delivery. She could have become septic if you left her and she didn't pass everything. Fours puppies would be an awfully small liter for a golden. She might still have some stuck in there.

There very well could be more in there.. They are likely dead now.. It's possible that they are alive, but very unlikely.. Even if they are.. they didn't get any of that colstrum rich milk so likely would have problems anyhow.. You should take Mom to the vet and make sure that there are no more left inside.. She could develop a serious infection and you could lose her.. Sorry to say, the answer is VET..

I hate to tell you this, but if she has anymore puppies in her..theyre most likely dead because if some were born then the sack they were all in has broken and the remaining puppies probably suffocated. I would have a vet make a house call and come and look at her though just to be sure or someone whos dog has had puppies come over so you dont have to move her...You can try feeling around her stomach and see if you can feel any puppies or weird lumps in her. However shes probably most likely done giving birth. Sorry to hear about your loss, but you have three other little angels now.

Well my daughter in law posted the question. I am the owner. #1 Jenna was acting perfectly normal after having the three pups. Eating, drinking, going outside to do her business. Feeding her pups and taking care of them. SHE WASN't showing signs of labor or pushing. If she would have I would have called the Vet then. I thought she was just done having pups.Also. today she seems perfectly normal and YES I did call the Vet and they told me that if she was acting normal, caring for her pups and there was no green discharge and she wasn't pushing then it was most likely her last pup and they seen no reason to see her.
No I am not a professional and Jenna s not a full blooded Golden, but she is part of our family and we love her dearly. Also it was not planned for her to have pups at this time. I won't even go into how it happened because its really not neccesary. We were going to breed her to another golden but instead we got a Goberian. Part golden and part siberian husky. I hear they started breedig these two in Russia. I do appreciate all of your answers and no I am not experienced but I educated myself as to what to look for and had one hour of sleep the night she had them. Don't assume that everyone is idiots and uncaring.

Get a squirt bottle so as that once he gets rowdy you are able to squirt him. He won't like it and could comprehend that he's not doing sturdy. 3. forget approximately approximately him whilst he jumps. do no longer yell, scream or gently positioned him down. thoroughly turn around and make no EYE touch. This his way of having all your interest, so do no longer supply it to him. If all else fails, your community library could desire to have a duplicate of "the canines Whisperer", confident it extremely is amazingly cheesy in spite of the undeniable fact that that is genious and that could want that may assist you with innovations on the thank you to coach your domestic dog. suited of success!

A C-section 20 hours ago and you probably would have had a real nice litter of puppies. Now if you hurry you will have three puppies and their mother. If you don't hurry you will have no dogs at all. Your dog will start passing toxins through her milk to the pups in short order. Then you will lose both your dog and her puppies.
