the guy i like is totally into this other girl. we are close friends, and he likes me alot, but not in that way. how do i get his attention away from her and onto me?

Let's phrase this question another way. You like a Guy A a whole lot. Guy B wants to know, how he can get your attention away from Guy A and onto himself. Now wouldn't you think that's a bit pretentious of him and none of his business? Don't you get to choose who you like?
So the answer is, you don't. He gets to choose whoever he likes. Sorry. Rather than compete for this guy, try and find someone else you like who is more into you.

Now why would you want to do that? Have you never heard of the golden rule--do unto others as you want done unto you.Besides he chose her when he had the chance to also choose you.Plus you are close friends with her.How can you be happy even if you succeed in getting him; and what happens to your friendship with your friend.If the guy were to leave her for you ,would he not also leave you for someone else when he feels like it.Can you ever trust him again---with your girlfriend or any other girl for that matter.I suggest you forget about him, find a decent and free guy for you and you only.That will make your life less complicated , painful, and confused.

best thing to do is pay less attention to him. You have to make yourself seem more interesting. Start acting like you don't even notice him. Believe me that turns a man on
